Alas I have no idea if mods reworking other factions exist, but there must be some, you just need to find them.
But that's part of the fun of modding your game, isn't it ? :D
Regarding pavises, these are large shields that archers/crossbowmen put on the ground to take cover behind. They've never been used the way they are in M&B, and as long as that's the case, I won't equip my crossbowmen with them if I'm only going to see them use them as a simple shield when they draw their one-handed weapons.
Swadian Armory is compatible with V1.2.8, so you can use it on this version of the game.
The only issue is that the Steam version is not the most up-to-date version of Swadian Armory, which is only available on Nexus. However, the only impact of not using the most up-to-date version of SA is that King's Guards helmets will be invisible. The rest of the mod will function correctly.
