The first of a few planned 40K factions, here are the smurf marines to enter the fray of Hero's Hour! (The prospect of a 40K HoMM-like is tantalizing, what can I say!)

This mod contains

6 Heroes
9 Units/Upgrades
Unique town screen and base buildings
2 Neutral Units

They're intended to be a "jack of all trades" faction compared to other planned competitors.

Not sure how balanced this faction is, as I eventually intend to include a few 40K factions to play off of this one, but here's the first release with the Space Marines. I'm excited to see what functionality the Rogue Realms DLC will bring to this game in the future too.

This mod is more or less finished, there's a few graphical bugs I'll need to look into but other than that it does work and so far it appears to keep up against base game factions in skirmish mode, but there's a lot of abilities being tacked onto these guys so that they "feel" more 40K.

Next release planned is the traitorous brothers of the Space Marines, so hope that with a few more modded factions this feels more like a conversion rather than an odd outlier, haha!

Feel free to comment on balance concerns or anything else that might come up; I'm aware of a couple graphical glitches that I'll try to fix up in the near future while trying to get the Chaos Space Marines implemented too.

you should make them somewhat smaller!
like regular Swordsmen are like.. WAY too Small.. there all how tall again..
it just looks disproportionate!
a 20% scale down Would look a lot better for it cuz swordsmen should be atleast 60% there size and there like.. Ridiculously small
20 or 30% bigger then the swordsman would be a good way to go

Any odds of a guardsmen faction being made?

I had an idea some time ago for a WH40k factions - just that I combined imperials with astartes (which are the higher tier units).
But for ultra marines only faction: Here are some ideas for additional units, maybe you'll find some use in it

Tier 1: Servitor > Battle Servitors - melee
Tier 2: Scouts > Snipers
Tier 3: Tactical Marine > Devastator
Tier 3: Assault Marine > Assault Veteran
Tier 4: Marine Biker > Land Speeder
Tier 4: Terminator > Assault Terminator
Tier 5: Rhino > Predator (+Dragonscales for dmg reduction! Spritewise you remove the turret and it is a rhino)
Tier 5: IC Dreadnought > Vene. Dreadn.
Tier 6: Land Raider > Redeemer

By the way, you land speeders have leap, but are not versatile ranged units. What really sucks here, is, that this necessitates 2 sprite sets new from scratch.
