Amalgamation: Salamander Specialization

Description
This mod adds a brand new (and somewhat rare) primary Amalgamation specialization that lets characters use chemthrowers and canisters, with a focus on purging everything with glorious fire. (and fire alone, use my Desolator spec for the other throwers!)

What is it?
A companion piece to my other chemthrower spec, the Desolator, the Salamander is a fire-spitting heavyweight with an unique mechanic; the Salamander's flames reach out much further, though with a significantly narrower cone.

To incentivize the use of fire-based chemthrowers, any damage done with them is boosted by one point, or two when at plasma tier. This bonus is lost if using another element.

How does it play?
While inflexible with regard to enemy immunities, the Salamander's extended range allows them to get shots off that no other thrower user can hope to match. Aided by a healthy HP growth (though with limited mobility), Salamanders can take some abuse while setting up for that perfect (and quite literal!) line of fire.

How balanced is it?
It'll depend on what you're fighting. If you can find good groups to barbecue the Salamander's utility is without peer, but picking your fights carefully is critical!

Special thanks:
  • h4ilst0rm and TePª for the original Amalgamation Classes mod.
  • Ketaros, for the excellent sprite pack from which this spec grabs its icon.
  • RustyDios for Chemthrower Addons, and for all the chemthrower-related help and ideas.
  • Tech_Knight_Zero on Twitch for coming up with the spec's name.
  • Mitzruti for the perk packs and the immolator/chemthrower mod.
  • All the other perk pack people. Wouldn't be able to do this without them.

It's out! No exclusion changes, but the spec's growths have been touched up a bit, and it's gotten a few minor buffs. (+2 aim and a late +1 mobility)

Heads up: Got a rarity pass for a bunch of my specs coming up at some point in the next week. The huge influx of new/changed specs over the past year or so has been great, but has also thrown a lot of older specs out of whack.

These changes are likely going to break some classes in ongoing campaigns, sorry! If you notice any characters that did lose their class, use my Console Helper's RandomizeClass command with one or more old specs, or (temporarily) remove the new exclusions in the matching spec's XComAmalgamation.ini file. (they'll be clearly marked as being new)

Good luck with the run!

i have all the other amalgamation specs. currently so i will try and add them to my game against Covert Operations, Purge Units and Prototype Armaments. A rather hard mix if you ask me.

Should be safe, provided you had the base Amalgamation mod installed already.

(not 100% sure if higher chemthrower tiers will show up if you did not start the campaign with that mod, but it should work at least)

Just a quick question, it will most probably end up with a yes, but here goes - do i have to start a new game or is it okay to add mid campaign

It's finally out! Only four months late, no big deal. (ran into some issues with my custom abilities, and then went and got addicted to Old School Runescape... all sorted now! I hope)
