Amalgamation: Desolator Primary Specialization

Description
This mod adds a brand new (and somewhat rare) primary Amalgamation specialization that lets characters use chemthrowers and canisters, with a focus on both stacking high amounts of elemental damage over time and resisting the elements.

What is it?
Compared to my Salamander specialization and its singular focus on fire, the Desolator is a more flexible (and more classical) chemthrower user built around whittling down the enemy with crippling status effects.

How does it play?
The Desolator is a master of the elements, possessing several abilities that increase damage over time or against targets already afflicted by status effects, as well as a slew of immunities. Using the power of the many different chemthrower and canister types, the Desolator lets you quite literally pick your poison for a given battle.

Important info:
You can play without Bitterfrost Protocol if so desired, but will want to swap out "MZBitterfrostBlood" with another ability in the spec's XComAmalgamation file.

Rusty's Chemthrower Addon Redux mod can similarly be removed (no config tweaks required), but is highly recommended to make the spec fit its intended niche. Be sure to check its page first if adding it to a running campaign.

How balanced is it?
Balance should be roughly similar to the base Amalgamation specs. Don't expect the chemthrower, as applied here, to win any straight-up brawls -- it's an area control weapon first and foremost, and the spec's skills reflect this.

Mod recommendations:
My Phoenix specialization was built from the ground up to pair with both the Desolator and the Salamander, and provides a significant amount of support-focused skill options for both.

Special thanks:

We now soft-require RustyDios' excellent Chemthrower Addon Redux, which came out recently. With that mod installed the spec can finally fit its intended niche, since it makes the alternate throwers way more accessible.

Please read the mod's page before throwing it into a running campaign. Note that you CAN choose to not use it (ignore in AML and carry on), the spec will just be a lot weaker without.

It's out! And with quite a few changes on the stats side of things, too! Check the changelog for more info.

(we now exclude Keeper and Ex-Lancer, and allow Alien Hunter's secondary)

Heads up: Got a rarity pass for a bunch of my specs coming up at some point in the next week. The huge influx of new/changed specs over the past year or so has been great, but has also thrown a lot of older specs out of whack.

These changes are likely going to break some classes in ongoing campaigns, sorry! If you notice any characters that did lose their class, use my Console Helper's RandomizeClass command with one or more old specs, or (temporarily) remove the new exclusions in the matching spec's XComAmalgamation.ini file. (they'll be clearly marked as being new)

(ShadowOps_SnakeBlood comes to mind as a vaguely-similar-in-execution alternative if you have the Shadow Ops Perk Pack, grants +20 dodge and poison immunity)

Thanks for the report! Totally missed that, sorry.

I'll add it as a weak requirement for now -- the mod will require it, but won't complain on the title screen if it does happen to be missing. That way people can remove or replace the perk and ignore the warning in AML if they want to play without.

I believe the perk MZBitterfrostBlood is from the Bitterfrost Protocol mod, which isn't listed as a dependency. Ended up with a couple of Desolators that had an empty perk slot.

I'll have a look when I get to updating my stuff again, thanks for the heads-up.

You might want to consider adding Stukov's Geomancer to list of incompatible specs on this and Maverick, seeing as he intended for it to only spawn alongside Necromancer primary.
