Knox's Proficiency Port: Warden

Description
A port of the fantastic Warden Class by Eramar into a new Proficiency Class. (Eramar's Warden is not required for this mod.) This mod contains changes to Warden making them a CQC-Psionic Defender hybrid. Because Eramar's Warden was exclusively a two tree class, I decided to add a Psionic Defense tree to try to fit with the theme Eramar gave the class.

Specializing in Bullpups and Psionic gauntlets, Wardens fight in close quarters with their Gauntlets and provide Psionic defense to their Allies.

Proficiency: Psionic Potential
Rank 1:
  • Gain Ebb and Flow - The user is able to change stances, that enable certain abilities, if they have an action point left. Defensive Stance is melee only, Offensive Stance is ranged.
  • Gain Unwavering Concentration - Provides the user bonuses depending on what stance they are in.
  • Gain 2 Mobility.
Rank 2:
  • Gain Premonition - Allows the user to change stances without attack for a free action.
  • Gain Implacable.
  • Gain 2 Mobility.
Rank 3:
  • Gain Warden's Tide - Push and stun all enemies around the user an deal a small amount of damage, disorients while in Defensive Stance.
  • Gain Piercing Strikes - Bullpup and Melee Attacks Pierce 3 Armor.
  • Gain 15 Crit Chance.

Class Trees:
Ebb - Perks that strengthen the Warden's Melee Combat
Flow - Perks that improve the Warden's Gauntlets and Ranged Capabilities
Bastion - Perks that provide the Warden Defensive and Supportive Capabilities

Ebb:
  • (Sq): Psionic Potential
  • (Cpl): Parting Strike - Melee attacks shred armor, and get a small bonus to hit chance and damage.
  • (Sgt): Foresight - Provides the user a shield that protects against damage, requires Defensive Stance.
  • (Lt): Lightning Reflexes
  • (Cpt): Half-Sword - Knock back a target with melee and deal small damage, Triggers Ebb and Flow.
  • (Maj): BladeStorm
  • (Col): Winding - Melee a target and rupture them for +3 damage, requires Offensive Stance, Triggers Ebb and Flow.

Flow:
  • (Sq): Warden's Advance - Attack an enemy within melee range, Triggers Ebb and Flow.
  • (Cpl): Insight - Purple Marauder.
  • (Sgt): Deception - Subsequent attacks during a turn provide a bonus to hit chance and crit depending on the weapon.
  • (Lt): Combat Conditioning
  • (Cpt): Anti-Armor Doctrine
  • (Maj): Zone Defense
  • (Col): Unbalance - Shoot a target and make it take 25% more damage for the rest of the turn.

Bastion:
  • (Sq): Stasis
  • (Cpl): Lockdown - Stun an enemy for 1 action.
  • (Sgt): Barrier - Provide an Ally 4 Shield HP for 1 turn.
  • (Lt): Bulwark Strength - Link to an Ally and provide them 8 Shield HP, 15 Defense, and 2 Armor Points, if the user dies, the linked unit dies.
  • (Cpt): Fortress
  • (Maj): Mass Stasis - Stasis a target and all nearby units within 6 Tiles of them.
  • (Col): Warp Shield - Teleport to a nearby location and provide nearby allies near the Warp location 6 Shield HP.

XCOM:
  • (Sq): Stasis Shield
This class comes with 10 different AWC perks in the XCOM tree, improving how the Warden is played.

GTS Perks:
  • Psionic Meditation I - Available at Proficiency Rank 2
  • Psionic Meditation II - Available at Proficiency Rank 3

Compatibility:

Issues/Conflicts:
  • Switching Secondary Weapons categories and leaving armory screen can crash your game, it is not known why.
  • If you are unable to get the next tier Psi Gauntlet, type "ForcePsiGauntletUpdate" in console, it should help fix the issue

Credits:
  • Shiremct, MrCloista, and Dies Irae - I learned a lot by looking into the code they have made and learned how to make my own class because of it, they all make really cool Proficiency Classes.

  • Iridar - Helped fix Lockdown to have a projectile.

Warden plays an effect whenever switching stance, and besides being limited with abilities, there isn't any other distinct notification for stance changes.

@Soul I've been wondering about that, and I think that might be a valid improvement to the mod, I'll see if I can find a way to make it more clear and add it to my todo list.

Man,mod is nice,but an indicator for stances might be cool,I'm legit never sure how the stance work and what stance I'm in lmao,its legit hard to get

@TradeGy The Shard Gauntlets are from Psionic Melee and are allowed to be equipped in your secondary (like a melee weapon). I'll investigate the perk and see if I am able to fix the issue that prevents it from working properly.

@KnowAHHHHHHHHHH I don't get the damage increase or the shred, I can't say with certainty it's not a problem on my side but I don't think I have any mods for shard gauntlets.

@TradeGy The melee hit chance increase for Parting Strikes doesn't work (due to Shard Gauntlets having a base 100% hit chance), but the Damage Bonus and Shred should still work. I'll check out the ability at some point and get it fixed in a patch if there is an issue.

I just want to ask but the Parting Strike ability is supposed to work with shard gauntlets? Because in my current game I don't get any of the bonuses and it reads like it only works with swords and not the shard gauntlet.

@Kinsect I believe Psionic Melee manually adds it to melee classes (along with most classes getting it in their pistol slot) so I do not know if there is a way to change that. I do want to return swords to the Warden at some point, so likely Psionic Melee will just have to be replaced in the future.

Is there a way or config to block the Psionic melee gauntlets from being usable with other sword wielding classes (like the Jane Kelly class)
unless they are gifted or have some psi stats?
