Description
Hydrogen fusion reactors + ice refinery

This mod adds 3 blocks
  • Large grid hydrogen fusion reactor
  • Small grid hydrogen fusion reactor
  • Large grid Ice refinery

The hydrogen fusion reactors are much more efficient in transforming hydrogen into electrical power than a hydrogen engine. And have a much higher power output. They are on par with their nuclear reactor counterparts.

The Ice refinery is an oversize, overweight O2H2 generator on super steroids. it has the same ice-to-gas ratio as a regular O2H2 generator. But it produces it at a lot faster rate. it is equivalent to 40 O2/H2 generators. instead of consuming 25 kg of ice every second, it consumes 1000 kg of ice but it also takes 20MW to do it.

I balanced all 3 of them, they need Silver and Gold (but no platinum or uranium) to build them so they are mid to end-game type of blocks

Be careful to turn off the refinery when you do not need it because O2/H2 generators or the ice refinery don't care if you are using only a little bit of gas for breathing, they will use the full power to replenish the gas needed for a regular generator it's 500kw so that is not too bad but the ice refinery is a full 20MW

If you think, the vanilla hydrogen to energy transfer is unrealistic and breaks your immersion, and would prefer a re-balance of the hydrogen production and still use those blocks, go visit this mod that I also made:

do these work with the last added even blocks, so i can tell the refinery to shut down when the tanks are full?

Thaks, definatly an incopatibility, will have to look for the cause.

now that is strange you should have 3 icons in the Revco category

The only thing I can think of is a corruption in the downloaded version you got
Try this:

-Start a new game with only this mod on it and check to see if you still only have 2 icons in the Revco category (If you have the 3 icons that mean another mod was interfering with it)
-save the game and exit it
-exit SE
-go to your : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850 and search for the folder 2748190802 then delete it (that is the folder for this mod)

Start SE again and continue that game with only this mod in it. This should download a new copy of this mod and hopefully you get the 3 icons

Also you could temporally try this mod: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2919723383
it's a small combo of most of the mods I made and are in my gameplayand see if you get the warfare reactor that way

Wellp, own all the dlcs, all I see in the power category and the RevCo category is normal model of reactor + the Ice Refinery, nothing optional there for me
REV4666  [author] 25 Apr, 2023 @ 3:56am
@Ponial
The reactor model is the same as the large reactor (I am using the same models)
If you look in the Revco folder or the power block folder of the G menu, you should see them

You should have both regular and warfare type but you need to have the warfare DLC to be able to use the warfare model, if you do not have the DLC you will only be able to use the vanilla looking reactor
If I let ppl use the warfare reactor without the DLC my mod would be taken down (I forgot once and Keen took it down until I fixed it)

So what model is the reactor? I see only default in game, yet I was hopping to get the Warframe type, is there a setting to change or something?

@REV4666
Thanks for getting back to me. I tried with another mod which should have worked the same way, but also had issues. So your point about another mod causing issues might be correct. I will try to prioritize this mod and test again - and verify that the addon isn't corrupted.

@Dynn
I do not know what is wrong, I just checked again in a game and the numbers should be:
20MW as required input
Ice consumption at 1000/s
and H2 output at 20KL

I can see 2 things happening:
1: Another mod is interfering with it
To try and fix that, put this mod at the top of the mod list of the gaming session. SE will prioritize this mod over the other mods

2: The file you got of this mod is corrupted, so you would need to delete the files of this mod and then download it again.
the default path for the mods is here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\(Your Steam ID number)\

and search for this folder:2748190802
Delete that folder. It should download again when you try to load the game again.

Am I doing something wrong, or why is the production the same as a regular O2/H2 Generator? https://i.imgur.com/WIcLerN.png

Thanks for the update. We installed the mod and everything worked well until the mod was blocked. Our world quit working. We tried everything we could think of, but the only way to get the world to work was to restore a very old backup (prior to using your mod). In the end we just started over with a fresh world. Even though that was very painful we are glad you found and corrected the issue. Because of your response, we've decided to load the mod in the new world today. Thanks.
