Thanks a lot for your enlightning answer.
The bug thing is uncanny.
I didn't know about that .dds format until now.
Apparently paint .NET* allows to save into .dds format and it comes with a large variety of graphic parameters (DirectX, RGB, linear, etc.) as you mentionned and others.
I'll try and see what works for Avorion.
*(paint dot NET https://www.getpaint.net/index.html , not the windows Paint)
Unfortunately the purple texture is the result of a bug when reading your file. I never managed to make those blocks textures. I'm not sure what the issue is but I spent hours trying various formats with DDS Nvidia extensions without success.
Also beware that with paint alone some things won't be possible to do.
In DDS they use a fourth channel to handle transparency for example. It's not a PNG.
I don't remember the details unfortunately
Please Hijack Hornet, I would like to make my own pack and I'm wondering what is the purpose of the purple textures files and how to make them from a black and white texture?
I mostly use paint.NET .
Cheers :)
