NAF marking templates for IMT

Description
This is a pack of (23) lines templates and (32) intersection presets dedicated to be used with the Intersection Marking Tools mod by macsergey, for North American Freeways collection by Greyflame

Presets:
All preset names have a coded number of incoming and outgoing lanes, the sum of which must be equal - according to Biffa's "lane mathematic" principle.

For example, NAF 6=2+2+2 is one road with six lanes and three with two lanes.
This preset can be used for several types of junctions: one-way with 6 lanes to 3 one-way with two lanes each; two-way 3 + 3 to two-way 1 + 1 and two one-way with two lanes etc.

The only thing you will need to change is to choose the suitably lane lines using the correct line templates for given type of roads on intersection.
Naturally, all lines are already created, as well as fillers - here each preset has a Chevron template selected (you can also quickly change it by loading the appropriate for situation filler template, or turn chevron orientation).

In this group you will find (15) presets:

NAF 1=1+1, NAF 2=1+1, NAF 3=2+1, NAF 4=2+2, NAF 4=3+1, NAF 5=3+2, NAF 5=4+1, NAF 6=3+3, NAF 6=4+2, NAF 6=5+1, NAF 4=1+2+1, NAF 5=1+3+1, NAF 5=2+2+1, NAF 6=1+4+1, NAF 6=2+2+2.

The next (5) presets concern the transition between 2 roads where the lane difference is greater/smaller by 1, and they are:

NAF ~2>1, NAF ~3>2, NAF ~4>3, NAF ~5>4, NAF ~6>5.

One thing that annoys me a lot in the game are nodes of the same kind of road between the ground/elevated/bridge and tunnel version. These are not intersections in the literal sense, but lines should be drawn at these nodes. This is where (9) ready-to-use presets come in handy:

NAF 1, NAF 1|1, NAF 2, NAF 2|2, NAF 3, NAF 3|3, NAF 4, NAF 5, NAF 6.

And last but not least: roundabouts. I make for them (3) presets:

NAF R2=1|1, NAF R3=2|2, NAF R3=3|3

where R is the number of lanes on the roundabout and on the right of the equation is the type of road that leads to it. These three presets also have a yellow stripe filler, but with color alpha=0
I think this is an interesting point of entry into experiments.

Lines templates
Colors:
All the yellow lines are the color that Grayflame mentioned about on North American Freeway 1 Lane workshop page comments, so I decided to use it: RGBA= 150/125/100/225
For the all white lines I used RGBA= 225/225/225/112.
The stripes and chevron white fillers have a slightly enhanced blue and alfa channels for a more fluorescent look RGBA= 225/225/230/130

Dimensions:
All NAF textures lines are 4.72in width so each template is width= 0.12 (unless otherwise specified in the description of a given template).
Offset between double line are 7.09in Offset= 0.18
I found that the original lane broken (dashed) lines used by Greyflame in NAF textures are almost half of the line segment/gaps length (4.9ft/10.7ft instead of 10ft/30ft) as in the U.S. standard.
In fact, the length of gaps and segments can be adapted by engineers to the design conditions, however their length ratio (gap to segment line) should be 3. [1] For NAF textures, this ratio is approximately 2.16.
So I decided to keep the all gap/segment line length proportions to the lane broken lines from the NAF textures.
This means that:
  • lane broken line template is Dash lenght= 1.5 Space lenght= 3.25
  • lane drop dotted line template is Dash lenght= 0.89 Space lenght= 0.98
  • lane Extention dotted line template is Dash lenght= 0.59 Space lenght= 0.65
The gaps between the Stripes and Chevron fillers lines are 10ft, while the line thickness is 9in.
All crosswalks are 6.56ft wide.

Pack included (12) lines templates:
  1. NAF | ylw - solid line yellow
  2. NAF | wht - solid line white
  3. NAF | Wide wht - Wide solid line white
  4. NAF || ylw - double solid line yellow
  5. NAF || wht - double solid line white
  6. NAF - - Lane ylw - between lane broken line yellow. Its dimensions correspond to the size on texture of the NAF segment
  7. NAF - - Lane wht - between lane broken line white
  8. NAF - - Lane Drop - between lane dotted line white, is a little shorther and wider - width 7.09in. Used to split highway route with dedicated lane; for auxiliary lane and drop-lane before the intersections or highway exits, before hilltops, etc
  9. NAF ... Ext ylw - short dotted line yellow. Used as a line extensions within an intersection or taper area
  10. NAF ... Ext wht - short dotted line white. Used as a line extensions within an intersection or taper area
  11. NAF -=- sld-brkn ylw - solid and broken line yellow
  12. NAF -=- sld-brkn wht- solid and broken line white

Pack included (5) fillers templates:
  1. NAF Stripe wht - white stripe filler
  2. NAF Stripe ylw - yellow stripe filler
  3. NAF Chevron - white chevron filler
  4. NAF RED - solid red filler.RGBA= 124/34/34/194
  5. NAF nuASPHLT - solid asphalt-ish filler, but imho 'Pavement' option is better... colorRGBA= 88/90/90/235

Pack included (4) crosswalks templates:
  1. NAF Zebra wht - continental type crosswalk white. Mostly common in U.S. Dash lenght= 0.4 Space lenght= 0.6
  2. NAF Parallel - longitudinal type crosswalk white. Often placed on, in suburban neighborhoods. Line width= 0.22
  3. NAF Zebra ylw - continental type crosswalk yellow. Why Yellow? That's how! ;)
  4. NAF Ladder - diagonal type crosswalk white

Pack included (2) stop lines:
  1. NAF STOP - solid stop line white, here 24in maximum wide (minimum wide for stop line is 12in). Used to indicate the point behind which vehicles are required to stop Width= 0.6
  2. NAF YIELD - shark teeth yield line white, here maximum dimensions: 12in of gaps, triangles of base 24in and height 36in (minimal dimension for yield line shuold be 3in for gaps, 12in triangle base, 18in height). Used to indicate the point behind which vehicles are required to yield.Triangle base= 0.609 Triangle height= 0.914 Space between= 0.305

Special thanks are due to cjgeist, elesbaan70 and generic guy for valuable substantive remarks and accurate insights. Thanks!

Ah, you're still here (instead of subscribing to and liking this pack and then reading about),
then know that you wouldn't be here if it wern't for the Greyflame and macsergey's work,
without which mods&assets it wouldn't have happened.
Thank you!

Weird. Make sure you have all templates and presets enabled in the Content Manager. Also, if you are using FPS Booster, disable the Custom Font option in it.
If that doesn't help, I recommend going to the macsergey's discord - there are many people who will help you solve your problems.

ah that's why the fonts went missing sometimes. thanks for the info!

@herb: It is very possible that IMT has some issue with uploading/refreshing data to the preset list. Sometimes when I first open IMT after loading game, I have presets in the list, but no names display. I have to close IMT and reopen for the preset names to show. I'll report this issue to macsergey. Btw i must check IMT Beta - macsergey put some update on it.

It's related to FPS Booster Custom Font Manager option. Fonts will refresh itself, just a little slower.
