Description
Allows players to Restrain and Free actions from another player who surrenders.

Add the Surrender action
  • Can be activated anytime from the vanilla Surrender emote.
  • Can be activated anytime from a configurable key (F1 by default).
  • Can be deactivated from a configurable key (F1 by default) as long as you are not restrained.
  • Trade is inhibited.
  • Main OPTIONS menu is inhibited.
  • Sit is inhibited.
  • Most timed actions are inhibited.

Add the Restrain action
  • Can be activated by contextual menu.
    Restrain Tchernobill
  • The target must Surrender.
  • The target must be closeby. (same distance as trade)
  • You can walk and enter/exit vehicles.
  • Most other actions are inhibited. (*) please report unexpected available/inhibited actions.
  • Without restraining item mod: An icon appears above the head of someone that is restrained (thanks nater for an example of how to do it)
  • With restraining item mod (see Restraining items part below) dedicated animations occur.

Add the Free action
  • Can be activated by contextual menu on a Restrained player.
    Free Tchernobill
  • The target must be closeby. (same distance as trade)
  • The target goes back to Surrender state.

Add the Inspect action
  • Can be activated by contextual menu on a Restrained player.
    Inspect Tchernobill
  • The target must be closeby. (same distance as trade)
  • The target's inventory is listed.
  • Inspect action can be deactivated from sandbox options.

Restraining items
This feature can be given by external mods adding dedicated items (like handcuffs or ropes) with very specific features.
This feature is not active until a complying mod is used.
If the feature is not active, the placeholder picture of handcuffs above player's head from previous versions is used instead.
A restraining item definition must include the following parameters:
  • RequiresEquippedBothHands = true,
  • Tags = CanRestrain, /*note that there can be other tags, like HasMetal or whatever.*/
A restraining item should probably include
  • 2D (inventory) texture.
  • 3D (world) texture and asociated definitions.
  • According player animations.
Here I will try to keep updated a list of complying mods:

Technical details
  • Based on ModOptions for key setting.
  • It is always possible to exit the game (but you may need to unpause).

Planned Features
  • Take items off a restrained player.
  • An UI for Inspect action.
  • Automatick stick from restrained player.

This mod can only be added to and extended with the express permission from the original creator. Having received permission, credit must be given to the original creator, both within the files of the mod and wherever the mod roams online.

I have the same problem as other guy, when I surrender everything works good in my screen but for other players im not doing anything unless they hit me or shove me.

Question : Can this be used with superb survivors that be pretty cool I'm thinking about trying it out and will edit this!

The surrender animation is successfully activated from F1, BUT it is not being reversed with the shortcut... the arms do not lower after pressing F1, it is necessary to press Esc.

There ought to be a way to free yourself that takes a bit of time, lets say you come across someone, restrain them after surrender, check their bag for something you might want, then leave and they can only free them self after a configurable amount of time, for example holding a button down for 30 seconds to simulate struggling against the bonds. An animation to go with the struggling would be cool but obviously would take more work

I'm not sure why but even with your mod disabled and only installed, some other mods get disabled and go invisible in the mod menu. Any idea why?

Hello! I’m Kai (Nem) reaching out on behalf of the Day’s End Roleplay server. We were interested in adding the prisonner mod to our unlisted/private modpack if you would be alright with it as it is great for RP opportunity

This would include you extending your creative license to us, allowing our mod team to add/edit/use your mod to suit our server. We will include credit to you as the original creator of the mod, of course, and have no intention as calling it our own work.

If this is something you would be alright with, then please let me know! Thank you for the consideration and the work done for the mod itself.
