Description

Railway 2 is a brand new network package which is packed with numerous new features, while maintaining the existing features of original Railway 1 project. It also brings new types of networks such as quads and mainlines. Check Railway 2 Guide in the collection, linked above.

What is Mainline Networks ?
Mainlines are part of RAILWAY2 ecosystem and feature elevated ballast and track superstructure, which is much more realistic compared to standard networks, which are on flat terrain. Mainlines comes with 3 elevation types, tunnel portal and tunnel prefabs. Since they manipulate terrain, it is not recommended to make road crossings with mainlines, use standard networks instead for this purpose.

Mainline height variations are distributed over prefabs. Use Fine Road Tool to switch between elevations.
  • Basic: 30cm (EU) or 15” (US) above ground
  • Elevated: 160cm (EU) or 5’3” (US) above ground
  • Bridge: 350cm (EU) or 11’3” above ground.

This package contains 3 networks.
  • 1x2 noded
  • 2x2 noded
  • 4x2 noded

  • Brand new network package
  • RE136 US Standard Heavy rails
  • Custom rolling mark and track detailing
  • Sleepers based on Northeast Corridor
  • Introducing Quad Networks
  • American AF tunnel portals
  • 5 level customization:
  • Procedural gravel color, thanks to Network Skins (check the guide)
  • Customizable ballast with Theme Mixer

All American Concrete tracks recycle texture and materials of track superstructure between each other. All R2 networks recycle ballast, gravel texture and materials, in order to maximize the optimization. Subscribing entire pack of Concrete style cost about 40MB load.

Comes as electrified networks. Use Network Skins to disable wires on-dragging, or Catenary Replacer to cancel wires map-wide. Part of RAILWAY project, thus requires Railway Replacer to customize track props.

Hey, cool looking tracks, couple of issues/questions
1: I do not seem to get any elevated, bridge or tunnel versions with the mainline packs, am I misunderstanding the idea that they are supposed all be in the pack or is this some bug with new patches or missing DLC's?
2: When plopping mainline tracks along the ground I get some funky clipping with the ground grass showing through the tracks except on slopes, any chance this an issue or do I need something else to make this go away?

Thanks for some great assets!

Thanks for feedback, mate. Appreciated. No idea, what you are talking about - oh boy, do i feel stupid. But i found a workaround by using the NSW catenary, where the double fits even on elevated open bridge tracks. Using all with NSW catenary enables a clean run of wires even between middle and double (thanks to Picker and NodeController). I just had to drop the German Catenary and all works fine. Love your trains and tracks. Too bad my RAM is limited, cause would love trying them all. Thanks again for all your great stuff.

There are two issues in your post;

1 - I'll assume that you're upgrading the networks of R1 with R2. If you have Network Skins, It is possible that the identifier networks are using are disabled to have diesel config, by Network Skins. I'd check catenary selection in NS, and make sure it's not "None" or "Disabled", before upgrading them. Aside that, considering the fact you had R1, I'm assuming you surely checked prop style from the replacer menu and selected appropiate style.

2- Station tracks for R2 are published separatetly, these can be found in the collection. The decision of separating station track variants came after the fact that R2 has variable height station tracks. So pick one you need.

As a final note; keep in mind that European standard networks are not interchangable with Americans, due to wire height difference. Bridges on the other hand have US or EUR height option with Adaptive Networks.

For Info: It appears that some REVO tracks do not update the wires on replacement of the catinerary unsing German Catenary Pack with Middle.
Issue given e.g. with:
R2USA W GrCo 2x2 Main
R2EUR WGrCo 2x2 IBCH-W

Fine are e.g.:
RO Railway W GrWo 2x2 Ausser TB
RO Railway W GrCo 2x2 Koblenz TB

Having Adaptive Networks on or off does not make any difference.

I am not aware if this is a potential site affect coming from another mod, but it is interesting that such issue does not occur with the tracks from Ronnyx69.
Btw: I noticed that the Railway Replacer is offering for selection only tracks from Ronnyx69 and none from REVO, which is very sad since the REVO tracks look better in first person.

Make sure to use TMPE, its lane connectors and custom speed setting for quad tracks are pretty useful. Cheers

I have to see this working!!! 4x2 ??? This should be great. Let me see if all 8 rail will work same time with its own AI. I will come back with the result. It will take time.
