Realistic Batteries Mod

Description
This mod rebalances batteries to be more expensive, 99% efficient and fixes the small grid batteries to actually be proportionally as effective as how many power cells they take
Batteries start at 0% charge and you can grind them safely without getting scrap
This is the beta version and it will be improved with capacitors and other stuff


How's the math done?
A large battery has 80 power cells and has 80% efficiency, we can assume the batteries are being overloaded, and that's why they lose 20% of their energy as heat
In my rebalance the large battery has 100 power cells and works at 80% load, (the stats are identical to the regular battery) and so only 1% of energy is lost
And now, the small grid batteries have stats that are proportional to their number of power cells, if we use the large battery as model. (Power cells are modular and fully scalable, so it must be proportional
The small small grid battery has 2 power cells, and the large small grid battery is 9x2, so it could fit 18 small batts, and so it requires 36 power cells, so now the entire battery tree is consistent, buffing the extremely underpowered small batts


Why did you do this mod?
I find absurd that you cannot remove a battery after you have placed it (this literally ruins survival), i also find absurd that batteries are 80% efficient in some dystopian future where jump drives exist (and where reactors are extremely overpowered and don't need any ramp up time), and obviously that batteries magically hold 30% of energy on creation

To do:

1 Update warfare 2 batteries

2 Jump drives should work as capacitors and will take as much energy as you can supply them, being able to be charged in seconds

3 Create capacitors with 40-50% efficiency but able to dump all their energy at once (Jump drives are able to output their entire charge instantly, so it could be a modified jump drive that instead just puts the energy back into the grid, it could then be downsized in cost and performance to fit the needs of your ship

4 Powerkits that can be crafted and refilled in the assembler and are used automatically with the same behavior as hydrogen/oxygen tanks

The batteries you're talking about may be nickel or lead-acid, this mod pretends the game's batteries are made out of lithium

Nickel based: 80%
Lead-acid:85-90%
Lithium batteries:95-99%

thats not how the batteries work by the way, batteries in real life do have a 20% loss.

Well, i've been looking for this for a long time, even tried to do something like you're talking about but didn't find enough poeple that wanted to play this way.

We used to do events where we would do what I like to call a ''Rock bottom Start''
In these you would spawn with 0 hydrogen, no tools, no respawn ships and no starting base:
You would have to find a way by scavenging debris or doing jobs, and all that struggle just to get your first set of tools
I'll clean up an old discord server I have so people can discuss about the mod or LFG survival servers

I used to host them and they were kinda popular but I'll wait until a cpu upgrade before doing so again

I always figured that breaking a fully charged battery should definitely result in some kind of energy release. It has charges on the order of MWh, yet at once bringing them together seems to do nothing. Where does the energy go?

My request: battery go small boom, boom proportional to charge.

Ha ha no pressure! I just subbed earlier, and when I checked the Build Info block stats, the original batteries all had your modified values, but the large and small grid warfare batteries were still at stock values.
