Description
This is a 1st level module that will get characters to level 5. It is a simple 3 floor dungeon crawl done as a spinoff of Temple of Elemental Evil. If you complete this module, export your characters and check out the sequel... Secret of the Black Flame...

Rumors have begun appearing once again, surrounding the old destroyed Temple on Witch Mountain. Some say dark things have begun to crawl from its murky depths once again.

Background...

Witch Mountain has been surrounded by dark tales of ancient curses for centuries since the days anyone can remember. An enterprising Priest of Maraike strong in his convictions lead an expedition to Witch Mountain to cleanse it of its evil reputation. After numerous purifications and exorcisms he deemed it safe and established a Temple of Maraike at the base of Witch Mountain over the site of some ancient ruins.

For years the Temple prospered, until the day, one by one the priests started going mad. Some say they heard a strange voice whispering in their ears, of a dark god. The voice corrupted them and distorted their worship of Maraike, turning their souls black as pitch. Evil beasts and men sprang from the Temple in large numbers pillaging the enslaving the lands beyond. The Lords of the area finally united under a single force and put the Temple and its inhabitants to the sword. The Temple was razed and all within killed.

Over the centuries the location was thought lost... until a certain group of adventurers stumbled onto a long lost map.


EDIT: INSTRUCTIONS FOR EXPORTING YOUR CHARACTERS AT THE END OF THE MODULE

Once you leave the final Exit Point in the module in the Caverns... You will get this Screen.

At the bottom of the screen there are buttons to "UPDATE CHARACTER"...

What an excellent dungeon crawl. Some areas we cheesed it with Warlock/Rogue/Ranger all pinging off the small mobs + stealth but the level design made a lot of areas just bad for rogue hiding. Looking forward to Secret of the Black Flame

It was entertaining although a bit short, especially the last level which was lacking in the monster department but it was fun and that's what matters now I'm going to check out the other adventures.

Yup it definitely was.
This dungeon was designed back during the Beta for Solasta, at the time we had like a whopping 16 placables and very few monsters to work with. We only had one tileset back then which was the Necropolis. Little by little the TA Devs added more and more with each iteration of the Dungeon Maker. You can see how much they added with each iteration....

1st Iteration: I designed Witch Mountain, Secret of the Black Flame, and Halls of the Ogre Lord
2nd Iteration: Haunted Keep of the Slavers, Assault on the Slavers, Stockade of the Slavers, and Pursuit of the Slave Lords.
3rd Iteration: Ruins of Ilthismar
4th Iteration: Temple of Evil

It is just a Dungeon not really a story. it drops you right into it no lore to start nothing.

Lvl 4 and I stoped playing. I do not have a "pearl" and there is non to be found, so all these magic item i'm finding - useless. I made a rouge with spells, so i would have "identifiy". dumped the campaign becasue if this.

Yes its a shorter module but dos work well for multiplayer.
