Muton Destroyer - WotC

Description
MUTON DESTROYER - WAR OF THE CHOSEN
------------------------------------------------------

What started as a fun project for a friend turned into a fully polished mod. So, why not share with everyone?

A larger, more reckless version of the aliens' favorite shock troop; the Muton Destroyer wields destructive concussion weaponry as well as energy dispersing damper technology.

MOD HIGHLIGHTS:
------------------------------------------------------
1 New Enemy with 4 Force Level Variants: Muton Destroyer, Devastator, Decimator, and the rare spawn Leviathan
1 New Research Project: Muton Destroyer Autopsy
1 New Utility Item: Destroyer Vest
1 New Grenade/Proving Ground Project: Concussion Grenade

MUTON DESTROYER LOADOUT AND ABILITIES
------------------------------------------------------
-Concussion Rifle: A low damage beam weapon capable of firing a Concussion Blast.

-Concussion Blast: A blast that inflicts Disorient, Knockback, and destroys cover.

-Concussion Grenade: A grenade that causes no damage to soldiers, but inflicts Disorient, Knockback, and destroys cover. There is also a chance for victims in the blast to become stunned.

-Damper Field: A device that, when activated, protects the Muton Destroyer and close by allies with a crackling energy field that reduces incoming shot damage by 25% for a limited time (exact reduction will appear in the Shot Breakdown UI prior to firing). The damage reduction has no effect on Melee or Psionic attacks. For an additional challenge, the Damage Reduction can be increased to 50% or 75% using the config file XComAshMutonDestroyerConfig.ini.

-Eviscerate: A deadly, moving melee attack that inflicts Disorient, Knockback, Rupture, and a chance to Stun.

-Retaliate: A small chance to counter an incoming melee attack with Eviscerate.

-Destroyer Armor: Provides the Muton Destroyer with immunity to Explosions and Stun. For an increased challenge, immunity to Fire, Poison, and/or Acid can be added using the config file XComAshMutonDestroyerConfig.ini.

-Psionic Instability: Muton Destroyers are simple creatures. As such, they suffer increased damage from the Psionic Attacks; Insanity, Soulfire, Nulllance, and Void Rift. Custom Psionic Attacks can be added to the Psionic Instability array using the config file XComAshMutonDestroyerConfig.ini.

-Poor Manners: Inelegant and ponderous, Muton Destroyers tend to 'bump' structures and objects around them as they begin to move. Such things are subsequently destroyed.

-Clumsy: Lacking a bit of grace, Muton Destroyers sometime fall down after moving. Nearby objects and structures are destroyed and the Muton's turn is ended.

CUSTOMIZABLE
------------------------------------------------------
Just about everything is configurable. Changes to suit your own preferences can be made in the following files:

XComAshMutonDestroyerConfig.ini
XComGameData_CharacterStats.ini
XComEncounterLists.ini

Be sure to make a backup of any changed file in case this Mod gets updated. You'll need to reapply your changes once you've taken the update.

COMPATIBILITY
------------------------------------------------------
This mod adds its own unique templates and config file entries to the game. It DOES NOT alter/override any base classes or config file entries. As such, it "should not" have compatibility issues with other mods, but Mod collisions can occur even when completely unexpected.

NEW GAME
------------------------------------------------------
DISCLAIMER: You should start a new game before enabling the Muton Destroyer Mod. Under testing in my environment, however, the Mod functioned as expected when enabled mid-campaign. If you decided to do so, the risk is all yours!

So far I only fought these guys a couple of times, but I really liked your general approach to what these enemies are. Certainly not a pushover but also not a powerhouse with stupid amounts of armor, accuracy and HP. They are menacing but also quirky, and the clumsiness "ability" is fun as heck!

Hi @Ashlynne_Lee I was wondering if you know how to modify so that it can use voicepacks? I want to configure this muton to use the Roadhog character voice in my Overwatch voicepack. Thanks!

Hey HIMN,

Thanks!

Here are the Mods I use:

Vindictus Female Hairstyles:

WOTC Female Hair Pack
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1471399748

More Hair Colors:

Lipstick Pack

Capnbubs Accessories

I like the Ceri Hairstyle, but I don't remember which Mod it's in off the top of my head! It looks real nice paired with a head piece like the Ballistic Goggles. I set my soldiers to Happy-Go-Lucky attitude so they smile! :steamhappy:

Cool mod!

Could you please tell me the cosmetic mod (hair, face) you are using on your soldier? They look quite nice!

@Zin: I can't say with 100% certainty without looking at the Harrier code, but I will say I'd be extremely shocked if they were not compatible! Like, in pure disbelief kind of shocked. :steamhappy:

Is this compatible with Muton Harriers?

Hi Ashlynn, sorry for the quick off-topic, sent you a DM. Have a nice day! Love your enemy mods!

@Dark: Yes, those tool-tips are programmatically generated based on configuration settings so the player will see the correct immunity information. It was mostly an experiment to see 'what could be done' with tool-tips.

I'm pretty sure I could pass in localization variables to the script to make that functionality follow best practices. That would, of course, require an update.

Thanks!
