Evolution: Climate (Semi-Scripted)

Description
All components for Evolution: Climate (Stand-Alone) as they are in the box.

If you like the game, buy it and support the designers and publisher!

The goal is not to compete with or replace the official digital version, but rather to provide an analogue to the physical board game with a few quality of life features to increase ease of play and reduce fiddlyness.

Features:
- Fully scripted setup;
- Allows setting up a game with Climate or with Base traits only;
- Allows setting up a game with or without Climate Events;
- Automatic food counter on the Watering Hole;
- 'Modify Environment' button to reveal food cards (trait cards on the Climate Board) and automatically add/remove food;
- Automated climate level change;
- Automated event draw and trigger (population/body size effects are still manual);
- Smart Species Boards with automated placement and tracking of Population and Body Size Markers;
- 'Collect Food' button to automatically collect all food on your Species Boards;
- 'Announce Points' button to broadcast how many points you have from Food Tokens and Species Population;
- Full save support, allowing you to save the game and continue playing later.


Dealing cards each round, feeding your species and managing traits is fully manual.
Promo cards are not yet included.

That one was a bit puzzling, the cubes should snap to the new position when you drop them, no check is made based on the player.

The only thing I could think of, which indeed is a bug I could replicate, is that if the players have a higher object "lift height" TTS configuration, the cubes are lifted so high when dragging that the script didn't detect them as being on top of a valid position. Let me know if the fix works for you or if it's a different issue.


The climate events are printed on the chat when triggered, but indeed it is more elegant to also wait for user confirmation. I've added a "Discard" button to triggered events.

Update:
- Fixed Population and Body Size changes not registering for players with higher "lift height" configuration;
- Replaced timed Event discard with "Discard" button;
- Fixed script breaking when spam-clicking "Modify Environment".

We used this in a 4 player game last night. It works well mostly! Two problems we hit though:
- only one person could move the population and body size cubes on any of the species boards. Mark spent the night updating everyone's cubes. If I try to move a cube, it always jumps back to the '1' position.
- When a climate event was triggered, the card disappeared before we had a chance to evaluate its effect - it would be good to prompt for another button click before the event card is discarded.

Big update!

- Fixed Food/Climate values of cards not being visible when many cards in hand;
- Fixed Climate Trait cards not being hidden when setting up a game with no Climate Traits;
- Improved setup configuration to enable/disable Climate Events and Climate Traits separately;
- Added smart functionality to species boards:
--- Population and Body Size will be memorized on each board and updated when the player moves them up or down;
--- Population and Body Size Markers will automatically move back to their correct spot if they are knocked from the board, or if the board is moved, flipped or rotated;
- Added automatic population counting when announcing player score;
- Added save support (scripts will continue working correctly after saving the game and re-loading).
