Projekt Pew Pew: Pseudo Realismo (4PR)
By Muffins
A full on project trying to bring a bit of realism (with some liberties taken) to MGSV!
Previously only for vehicle names, now with weapons!

Projekt Pew Pew: Pseudo Realismo

Henlo! This is part of the 4PR family of mods.
Here are the other games it's available in:
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil: Village

I decided to include it here on Steam in a sorta shameful attempt on raising awareness for it.

You can check the main page of 4PR on Nexus, by clicking it here![www.nexusmods.com]
What is 4PR?
Well, to begin I was never a big fan of the series ditching real-world vehicles and weaponry, focusing instead on made up fictional stuff.
While yes the weapons and items in the game are based on real-world equivalents, they have been altered, mixed up in a blender, so that they would look different.

My goal is to bring back the real stuff, while trying to maintain the series continuity of known weapons, items, gadgets etc, while also keeping the tradition of having real world trivia and information, so maybe you can learn a thing or two.
Oh and to also change how weapons are set, give them more variety. All the guns looking like swiss-army knives by the grade 5 or 6 is just god awful.
What have you changed?
Well, the initial release of 4PR, back when the mod was simply called "Real Vehicle Names" did what it did, it replaced all driveable vehicle names and descriptions to their real counterparts. With some liberties taken.
Now 4PR expanded itself to weapons. For now, it only affects secondaries, such as handguns and submachine guns, but I'm planning on going over all weapons and items eventually. So expect changes within those categories!
For a full on explanation of the mod and what changes were made, or what are some of the features, please check this article:
In-Depth Information on 4PR for Installation and Features (Version 1.3 - Scissors)[www.nexusmods.com]
Are there required mods in order to use 4PR?
Yes! These are covered in the article as well.
Those would be:
The Hospital Pistol[www.nexusmods.com] by mdw1ngz[www.nexusmods.com];
And the Colt Single Action Army swap for Tornado-6[www.nexusmods.com] by PresidentSears[www.nexusmods.com].
So download them and give them a try! I asked them for authorization on featuring these mods here, so no worries.
What about compatibility issues? Can I play Online, go on FOBs, or use Infinite Heaven?
This is also covered in the article in more detail.
The mod is fully compatible with Infinite Heaven[www.nexusmods.com], so not to worry.
If you want to use More lethal CQC[www.nexusmods.com] by CountFuzzBall[www.nexusmods.com], that mod has been updated to feature a compatibility patch for 4PR!
If you want to use MGSV UI Tweak[www.nexusmods.com] by Olliekun[www.nexusmods.com], that mod has been updated to feature a compatibility patch as well!
If you want to use Solid Rising V4 (Light)[www.nexusmods.com] by NoShigu[www.nexusmods.com], here in 4PR there's an optional download to apply a compatibility patch.
As for FOBs, it's best not to invade other players with these items, or use them when another player is around the same FOB. Events are fine!
As for other mods to ease development, or grinding tasks, or anything that messes with the development trees, it's sadly not compatible.
You can try it, as long as you install 4PR after installing said easier grinding mods! But I have no clue! xD (need feedback okay?)
Oh and, should be a bit obvious but, the mod currently does not support other languages other than English. I may add support to it, but I don't have a grasp on everything.
Are there known issues or bugs I should know beforehand?
All of these are covered in the article and bugs section of the mod.
Are there precautions when installing? Can I use it with existing saves?
This is covered in the article.
Just to be sure, back up your save data. But I don't think it will cause harm.
The mod is fully compatible with new game data, or existing data.
Maybe if you're lucky on completed data, you may already have skipped development on certain items!
I have found a weird bug/glitch with the mod! What do I do?
First, breath slowly, don't panic. Secondly, you're free to post a bug report here on the mod page, post a comment with your issue, or if you're within the Modders' Heaven Discord server, you can personally @ me the issue, bug me here on Steam, as now you can see who I am or contact me through Twitter.
That however depends on my mood, and way you approach me, so safe warning.
Special Thanks!
First, the main initial inspiration and clues where to start from with this mod are thanks to two mods in specific:
Guns By Glecas[www.nexusmods.com] and the MGSV TPP - UI Tweak[www.nexusmods.com], so thank you Glecas[www.nexusmods.com] and AlissArcana[www.nexusmods.com] for knowing where to start.
Secondly, this project wouldn't be possible without the MGS Monster Guns[github.com] guide by Unknown321, which you should check out!
As for other people:
TinManTex - Custom lng2 support, and showing me where the conflict with IH the mod initially had was;
Mare's Leg - Hospital Pistol authorization, grammar help, general feedback;
George Sears - SAA authorization;
CapLagRobin - Random locations of certain things that my mind can't pin point at the moment;
countfuzzball - More lethal CQC compatibility, general feedback;
OldBoss - Helping out with the MAC-10 RC magazine icons, general feedback;
Spidremi - Metal Gear Online 3 cleaned up keyart for the Gallery Icon;
Cuba, daften_23, morbidslinky, IroquoisPliskin1972, STEVE HARVEY, IroquoisRedgrave - General feedback;
If I missed someone, please bug me, my memory isn't the best at times.

And a big shout out and thanks to Modders' Heaven, where most of these nice people can be found at.
If you want any help on modding or how to get started with MGSV modding in general, that's your go-to place!

This mod is also dedicated to my Mum.
Unsorted Preview Pictures!
These preview pictures can be found in the official mod page on Nexus at a higher resolution.
I thought of displaying it here as well because it's necessary.
