Description
It's the sequel to Nahuatl Tribal Names!

Replaces the Byzantine empire/royalty names in vanilla with authentic names from the Nahuatl language of Mesoamerica (best known for being the language of the Aztecs). Also changes royal title names and descriptions, faction names, and the faction texture.

Names and titles sourced from Mexicolore, Behind The Name, Nawatl Scholar. Titles and title descriptions should be mostly authentic, with a little fluff.

Coming soon: thematically appropriate weapon and armour retextures.

Names sourced from Mexicolore, Behind The Name, Nawatl Scholar.
These are generally classical Nahuatl but there are likely to be some Spanish loanwords that slipped through my curation, or other things that are more modern, like the existence of surnames.
Unfortunately, unlike tribals, backer pawns can sometimes spawn into the empire faction. You can probably get around this by using one of the mods that removes backer pawns.

This uses the same namelist as my previous Nahuatl names mod, so check that one out for stats and Q&A.

Mod Compatibility

This mod changes the texture for the royalty faction, so please load it after any retexture mods such as Vanilla Textures Expanded.

This should be compatible with Nahuatl Tribal Names, but I think it might be a bit much to use both.

Regarding the nahuas' culture, I'd only put one god and make it Tezcatlipoca, because he was apparently the most threatening god. And that ended up only being a fraction of the nahuas, because for understandable reasons, they were very quick to accept Jesus Christ.

It's a fine idea, but colonial-era noble nahuas like the latter dukes of Amecameca had mostly grandiose Spaniard names with a Nahuatl detail, e.g. Juan de Santo Domingo de Mendoza Tlacaeléltzin, or María Eufrosina de la Sagrada Concepción Tochtlitzin de San Roque. 🤔

I have an Ideology patch ready to change deity names, but it doesn't seem like empires have named gods usually since they always generate as archist, from what I can tell? I guess if you edited it in dev mode it would come up. There's definitely code for picking the names of their deities but I think it's only if you specifically pick a Sophian culture...let me know if you want it anyway.
