Introduction :
I regularly search how to improve the graphical aspect of my games, I love to give more depth with a consistent and realistic feeling through particles or effects. After to tried the Attila' Gunpowder mod, I felt pleasantly surprised by his great work.
Finally, after some discussions and tests, we decided with Attila to combine our works in one pack to have an easily exchangeable common base.


Description :
Cinematic Battle Effects has for final objective to make your battles more cinematic and visual, like more persistent black powder smokes, new trails and impacts or more dust through different mod and submods.
This is the light version of the main Cinematic Battle Effects version to provide better compatibility with other mods. This version have no trails and no arrow impact changes, all details below :

Smokes Details :
Improved the gunpowder to something more dense and persistent that dissipating naturally.
This add also new smoke and fire effects to some units like Hellcannon or Flame Cannon.

Trails Details :
Trails of dwarf blasting charges are removed because they don't need it.
Vanilla Centigor RoR ugly poison trail effects removed (base trail remaining).

Impacts Details :
Improved various projectile impacts for something more visual. (mainly for close looks)

Concerned reworked impacts.
- Cannonballs (grass, mud, rock, sand, snow)
- Vampire Coast bombs (all)
- Spores (melee, big ror)
- Globes (poison, death)
- PlagueClaw Catapult (all)
- Warp Lightning Cannon (sand)
- Poison Wind Globe Mortars (all, *water impacts later*)
- Queen Bess (all)


FAQ :
- Is CBE contain VFX and external movie pack files ?
Yes this addon contain VFX files. However you don't need additional external files because the new CA launcher support movie packs now, that's why it's requiered. So you must enable it into your launcher like a regular mod.
I don't know about unofficial launchers.

- My Launcher doesn't support movie pack files.
You can use these external movie pack files instead, available here[drive.google.com]
Put one of them into your game data folder, by default : "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War WARHAMMER II\data". Delete it to uninstall.
You must repeat the operation after each update. (no actions into the launcher required)

- Where I can find older Versions ?
If you want older mod files or older versions, they are all available here[drive.google.com].


Compatibility :
Do not use this version in same time of CBE | Cinematic Battle Effects main mod.

- CBE Proper Effects Addon submod is highly recommended but not necessary.
- Designed for v1.12.x of CA game version. (The Hammers & Herdstones Update & DLCs)
- Requiere the new CA launcher or KMM to works.
- Savegames compatible.

- Compatible with Blood and Dust mods.
- Compatible with Improved Arrow Trails.
- Compatible with VFX: Realistic Particle Effects.
- Compatible with Mother of All Bombs.
- Compatible with Proper no trails.


Troubleshooting and Issues :
- This mod impact your framerate, recommended for beefy setups
Depending of your setup, some effects can disappears if the engine is overloaded during very big battles.

- Crashes
If you use Proper Effects Addon, verify you have the correct CBE core installed and enabled into your launcher. If you used the mod before the 3.5 version, also verify that you don't have old related external mod files into your game data folder.

I will take a look, thank you. That will come with a few other fixes, like a fix for the strange vanilla poison trail effect on RoR centigor.

This is bugging out the impact texture from Malagor's new landing/divebomb. Seems like it's either just huge and dense, or it's duplicating the normal sparse texture over and over and ends up looking like that, not sure which. Either way, it's not a huge deal but it's definitely broken.

I made sure to isolate it to just this mod, removed the other movie files from the data folder and whatnot. Only shows up that way with this mod installed.

Yes exactly, no trails and arrow impact changes in this version, this is the same version of the old "Vanilla Trails" version.

Sorry if it's confusing I'm not a native english speaker so I'm not sure if I choose the right term, but I tell me that it could leave me a greater field of move with this name in the futur. This version probably run a bit better too because of the absence of arrow's impact decals but nothing really important.

I thought this just made blood decals less permanent.

So this version adds more compatibility. When you say LITE you don't mean like a less taxing version on the performance though right?
