Description
🚴‍♂️ Small Bike Friendly Roundabout Roads - Red Bike Lane 🚴‍♂️

This is a set of two roads that allows you to create bike friendly roundabouts without the need of additional mods, because the nodes are already textured as you build. Simply create a roundabout using the Inner Road, then upgrade the first segment of each approaching road with the Approach Road.

Big big thanks to Jeremy Thunder for featuring the asset in his latest video on Vogelstad. Go check out his amazing channel!

✔️ Features ✔️

🚸 Crossing disabled and no inner pedestrian pavement on the Inner Road.

🏘️ Zoning disabled on the Inner Road.

↔️ 16-metre wide. This is the standard width of basic vanilla roads.

♿ Step-free access to the zebra crossing. Thanks clus for the idea.

🎨 Dutch-style road markings: shark's teeth (yield triangles) on the zebra crossing, elephant's footprint on the cycle lane.

🟥 This is a red version. You can find a green version here.

📀 DLC required: After Dark for the bike lanes. Mass Transit for the flags used to connect the bike lanes on the node. Apart from that, the roads can be used without mods. Use TM:PE to better control the traffic flow and the IMT to further detail the node.

🔢 Stats: same as the vanilla two-lane road.

✏️RULES and TIPS✏️

1️⃣ Use the Inner Road for the perimeter of the roundabout.

2️⃣ Use the Approach Road for the first segment of roads approaching the Inner Road.

3️⃣ DO NOT connect monorail roads to the Approach Road or the Inner Road. You can still build a monorail "over" the roundabout, just don't connect it to it as the game recognises the two roads as roads with monorail and will create a junction. To avoid the monorail tracks to connect to the Approach Road, you can use the Hide TM:PE Unconnected Tracks mod.

4️⃣ You can connect the Inner Road to other vanilla roads, and you will only have the bike lane connected to the inner road itself, not with the vanilla road.

I'm amazed that people don't get the need of 3 lanes to make use of IMT and TM:PE. People, 1 lane version would not have a big enough gutter between car roundabout and bike roundabout. You can disable 2 outer lanes for cars with TM:PE and use IMT to add curbs and markings.

This isn't bycicle friendly at all, 3 car lanes, come on!!! :steamsad:

Agreed w everyone else, would love to see a 1 and 2 lane version of these protected bike lane roundabout roads :)

Can you make 2 lane or a 1 lane with protected bike lane?

This is amazing! THanks for making it :) If you have time, a one way road for the roundabout with dedicated protected cycle lane is still missing from the workshop ;)

Hi, it's amazing! Could you also make 1 and 2-lane variations?

Thx for making this, 4-lane would also be much appreciated!

@Teddy, that's partly correct, I placed the road in the single monorail and double monorail connect group, but there are no monorail lanes set in the road, so if you connect a monorail road to these roads, it will create a node with them. But it's purely "visual", because there aren't any actual monorail lanes, the monorail will never "fly" over the roads.

Really cool with the red markings connecting automatically over the nodes! Im not sure ive seen quite something like this before and im interested in how you did it. Did you perhaps use some sort of track functionality for this e.g. tram tracks? Is this related to the note about monorail tracks?

@Cas Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like them. I'm currently working on a larger roundabout with a large road as approach road, but I'm planning to do a one- and two-lane version of this road sometime next week!
