[WOTC] Immolator Overhaul

Description
This mostly cosmetic mod replaces the appearance of Mitzruti's Immolators with adjusted SPARK Flamethrowers made by Claus, and gives them new firing animations.

Adds icons for Immolators' weapon upgrades, including the green overlay icons. Replaces Breakthroughs' and Proving Grounds' images.

Adds a new starting weapon: Flametorch. It is a junky, weaker version of the conventional Immolator that doesn't have any upgrade slots. It is upgraded to conventional Immolator by a new upgrade schematic that becomes available for purchase after researching Modular Weapons.

The purpose of this weapon is to address the visual disparity between the new fancy conventional Immolator, and the regular XCOM conventional weapons. It's still compatible with Canisters, should you want to use them together.

When using SPARK Arsenal, soldiers equipped with Immolators will get an Auxiliary Weapon inventory slot that can be used to carry a Canister, as long as the soldier does not have a Canister equipped in another slot.

This mod also makes Canisters a unique-equip category, so that only one of them can be equipped at a time, and adds localization for its weapon category.

REQUIREMENTS

IMPORTANT!!!
Immolator Overhaul requires SPARK Flamethrower textures, which it can get from either [WoTC]SPARK Flamethrowers or from [WOTC] Iridar's SPARK Arsenal.

Immolator Overhaul will work fine if you play with both of these mods.

If you don't want to play with SPARK Flamethrowers nor with SPARK Arsenal, you can still make Immolator Overhaul work by copying these files:

from: ..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2127166233\Content\ WoTC_ZPARK_ApocalypseCannon.upk WoTC_ZPARK_FlamestormCannon.upk WoTC_ZPARK_InfernoCannon.upk
OR

from: ..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1526168999\Content\ WoTC_SPARK_ApocalypseCannon.upk WoTC_SPARK_FlamestormCannon.upk WoTC_SPARK_InfernoCannon.upk
to
..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2237137501\Content\

COMPATIBILITY

This mod should be compatible with anything that doesn't attempt to make the same changes to the same items. Can be installed mid-campaign.

Compatible with [WOTC] Prototype Armoury and [WOTC] Covert Infiltration out of the box.

If Prototype Armory is present, you will start the campaign with the infinite quantities of Flametorch in HQ inventory, and the Immolator will be single-buildable in Engineering after you complete Modular Weapons research.

CONFIGURATION

The mod is entirely configurable through:

I see. Thank you for the explanation.

Putting both or only one of them as required would be bad, because in the Alternative Mod Launcher they will show up as missing dependencies for people who don't use them, and a lot of people treat these warnings too seriously.

Well... that's fair, I guess, and I'm sorry if I sounded rude, but still, I really don't understand not putting a required item on the sidebar titled "required items".

It's a problem only if you don't read the mod description, and I have no sympathy for people like that.

Not having either "[WoTC]SPARK Flamethrowers" or "[WOTC] Iridar's SPARK Arsenal" listed on the "REQUIRED ITEMS" side bar and the description stating that you can use either/or is dumb.

This is like an primary sword or pistol using class mod not having "Primary Secondaries" or "True Primary Secondaries" on the required items list cause the description states you can use either/or.

In going through my Launch.log with this activated, even though I'm also loading Iridar's "Spark Arsenal", the 'Contents' folder for that mod does not have the UPK files listed (anymore?)

Fixed by adding the "[WoTC]SPARK Flamethrowers" to my mods list and grabbing them from there.

Perhaps a previous version of Iridar's mod used to have the UPK files, but as of today, ver 3.2 does not.

I'd probably class the SPARK Flamethrowers mod as "Required" at this point, and just note that it is compatible with Iridar's SPARK Arsenal.

What happens if I remove this mod mid campaign? I don't like flamethrowers duplicating everytime I go into Field Alchemist's loadout.

I am obsessed with flamethrowers, so this is right up my alley!

Great mod!
The image of W40K Black Templars x Furries from FlashGitz is just the cherry on top!

@baestschn thank you! I unsubbed/ resubbed to my whole mod list (just over 500 mods), got everything set back up and this was one of the last issues I needed to solve. So thanks again.

@Iridar I've had the same issue with the "Flametorch" just being replicated over and over again. I have noticed that it seems to happen any time I add an Alchemist (from Proficiency Plugin : Field Alchemist) to my squad or simply go in and pull the soldier up in the barracks. It's very odd.
