[legacy] Neottious' lidar v3

Description
Obsolete

Lidar with support for 3 sensors and touchscreen zoom. 4km via laser distance sensor.

5x3 screen and up for best results. Will also work on smaller screens, but will not have zoom.

Red is north. I recommend green to be a mast lidar. Yellow can be bow lidar, blue can be underwater lidar.

This lidar system allows you to make extremely compact sensors, because all you need is a compass, a distance sensor and a compact pivot on each sensor.

Feel free to use on your creation, just leave a link.

That was fast! Thanks, I'll be sure to check it out

https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2505014731 Version 4 is up - I completely rewrote the lua code now. It was very quick to make because MNCS has great module compatibility.

I got an idea that involves using the exact same sensors that this system uses, but implementing a GPS sensor onto each of the sensors to enable overlaying it on top of MNCS' map.

Sure, I'll start work on a new system that is more advanced than this one, like a module to the MNCS system we've just published a few days ago.

Yeah I apologize, I for some reason was thinking that this was a much more recent upload than it really was. I wound up putting in some more time on it and eventually did some ugly edits to move the zoom control to a number input which has wound up being good enough for me. If you wind up posting a new version I'll definitely check it out, this is a pretty great controller and I haven't found any other ones with the same combination of speed, accuracy, and light hardware requirements for the sensors.

I'll see what I can do, though the last time I worked on this project was a very long time ago.

Yeah this is unfortunately beyond me I think. I'm very new to LUA. If anybody does wind up making a version of this that runs on a 3x3, or even with the touch controls split to another monitor, hit me up in the Stormworks discord and I'll be super grateful

I don't know any LUA at all, but I'll take a shot at it

You could fairly easily do that, I think.

Do you think you could modify this to work on a 3x3 monitor with a zoom display? On a 5x3 you're wasting like 1/3rd of the space
