Competitive Space Marines

Description
MOD NO LONGER UNDER DEVELOPMENT SORRY

This mod tweaks the space marine faction; modifications have been made to the research tree, unit stats and city deployment.

City Deployment
----------------------
New research has been added granting space marines the ability to deploy multiple fortresses and strengthen their hold on the planet.
- Secondary Expansion (tier 3) : Allows for the deployment of a second fortress,
- Tertiary Expansion (tier 6) : Allows for the deployment of a third fortress,
- Unlimited Expansion (tier 10) : Allows for the unlimited deployment of a fortresses.

To maintain balance, the cost of deploying fortresses is increased relative to other factions - 120 requisitions and 120 influence at standard pace. Once the unlimited expansion upgrade is researched a 15 turn cooldown is applied. Second to this, a small requisitions cost (20) has been added to deploy the Fortress of Redemption.

Reseach Tree
-------------------
The space marine research order has been modified, fitting in the new expansion research.
- Signum and Cluster mines have been removed, their functionality is no longer available to the player,
- Locator beacons and teleporter homer have been combined into one upgrade at tier 10,
- Thunderfire cannons have been brought to tier 2 allowing for the earlier clearing of tiles and vehicle repair,
- The Librarian hero unit research has been moved to tier 5,
- Siege masters has been moved to tier 9,
- A new upgrade "Increased Infantry Armour" has been added at tier 5, replacing Extra Infantry Armour. This upgrade provides +2 armour to infantry units.

Unit Stats
-------------
- The Increased Infantry Armour trait adds +2 armour to infantry units as mentioned above. To compensate, the armour value of the Captain and Chaplain has been dropped by 1 and the price of terminators has been upped so that they now cost 90 requisitions with 6 requisitions upkeep,
- The scoutbike maximum hitpoint and armour values have both been increased by 1.

Compatibility : with respect to compatibility with other mods, of course the space marine faction has been heavily modified but also the features "OreField" and "Shard" so that they do not provide additional ore to the player and break the counter. The "Extra Infantry Armour" trait is defined outside of the space marine faction and has been left untouched.

NOTE - the city deployment functionality has been added by using the ore resource as a counter of sorts. I ask you please suspend your disbelief a little and perhaps view it as some sort of evidence demonstrating to the Adeptus Administratum the necessity of a greater space marine presence on Gladius Prime.

I hope you enjoy the mod!

A reduced version of the mod now exists giving the ability to deploy multiple cities but reverting to base game stats. The mod, [Cities only] Competitive Space Marines, can be found here:

Update 05/12/2020:
--------------------------
- Fixed the bug leading to no starting ore for the space marine faction.
- Moved the Librarian research to tier 3.
- Moved the Chaplain research to tier 6.
- Moved the Fortress Expansion research to tier 2.

Hey Sabre, Devastator Centurions are NOT loading in the game. the unit won show in the recruiting roster after unlocking the technology. any idea? i love your mod but that is a major flaw. i will unsubscribe if i don't get reply in a few days.

Any chance of fixing the bug where space marines AI don't build any cities?

It is intentional, you are not meant to have ore income. The amount of ore needed to get a city is reduced with each research level, i.e. the first level lets you place only one new city and so on, until the ore cost is removed entirely with the unlimited expansion research. To be able to place unlimited cities from the get go, try Mithrandir's Unlimited Space Marines Cities Mod :) https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2164024484

i opened up second level but ore income is a flat 0.0 so all the map squares sayinf bonus 20 percent plus or minus do nothing - there is no base income for ore atm so any percent bonus to it is still zero i did find another mod now that lets marines use mnore cities i have not tried yet thank you much

Ore is used as a workaround for the city unlocking mechanic, what level of expansion have you unlocked? - the research should lower the cost of deploying cities to be affordable

tried 10 difrent game starts an still no ore income

No worries, please let me know how you find it. I think the game has got a lot of good things going for it though a lot is left to the DLC and modding. There are definitely mods out there that might add what you are looking for, I admit I haven't tried many myself, but perhaps they might be of interest :)

If only they could bring more life to the gameplay... It feels lacking in life. Its an ok game, but it feels like it should`ve been better. Bringing various traitor chapters, more terrain variety, more unit variety a bit more lore.

Thanks man, will try it out in the next game.
