Operation Noble Light [COOP 1-12]

Description
Operation Noble Light is a "semi-open world" mission that can last from 2-6 hours. Search for an informant after HALO dropping into Vidda.

ONL is a mod mission. Load it from the manager to play. It can only be accessed in multiplayer.


Loading Vehicles Into The Plane
There is a giant read me hint first thing and there is also a briefing entry about how to accomplish this. Bottom line, You phsyically drive the vehicles into the plane and when you are in the spot you want inside the plane and see an action that says --Strap Vehicle, press it. When you're in the air, there will be an action to --Release Vehicle which will send it out the back of the plane.



Design
Overall, it is rather simple in terms of objectives and design as a whole, there's just a lot of effort put into building a better foundation then most (heavily Tac-Ops inspired) with a focus on more thematic elements (sound, music, actions, unique locations, etc.). Mostly this was a test at making a sustainable workflow for missions to use going forward in terms of balancing fidelity, performance, and development time.

Features:
  • A custom (somewhat dynamic) music system filled with handpicked high quality tracks from several wonderful artists kind enough to release their work under Creative Commons.

  • Multiple supported optional mods that can enhance your experience simply by loading them.

  • Dedicated server and/or headless client support.

  • A custom pseudo save system (works on dedicated servers too). See "saving games" below.

  • Thousands of lines of scripting and lots of custom functions. Might find something useful if you like to tinker.

  • Thousands of hand placed objects.

  • Leader rally point respawn.

  • Dynamic objectives (complete most in any order or just go straight to the end if you know where to look).


Recommended & Optional Mods:
You can mix and match any of these, keeping in mind each of their individual requirements. None of the mods below are required. Assets will be replaced automatically depending on what addons are loaded.

A NOTE:
A sequence at the end includes a certain gimmick location. Unfortunately there is a Bohemia bug with certain editor placed rock models that causes a stutter (that is synced in multiplayer) when a man is shot (hit) and their animation plays near the rocks. I created a ticket over a month ago, but it hasn’t been acknowledged. https://feedback.bistudio.com/T152438

TLDR: Install the No Hit Animation mod to limit some stutters in a later area when people are shot.


Saving Games
To save: open the map and select SAVE GAME under the Briefing tab. Click on the SAVE GAME button. Only the hosting machine saves the game.
To load: when in the multiplayer lobby, select the PARAMETERS button and change the "Load Save Game If Present" value to "Load Save".

Fluff:
- You will still start the mission at the airfield and need to drop into Vidda. Other then that, the important stuff like killed enemies and finished objectives will be saved. (Use the included Zeus if you hate driving).

- The amount of scripts in this mission and the dedicated server support did not lend to Arma's default save system.

- There is also an option for DELETE SAVE that will clear out the data from the <USERNAME>.vars.Arma3Profile located in your Documents -> Arma 3 folder.

- There are several "auto saves" in the mission too.

- This is one aspect that has not been AS vehemently tested (that doesn’t mean “not tested at all”) to the degree of the rest of the mission. Use with some expectation of minor bugs.

Enjoy the mission so far but I am having trouble location the scientist I've found the compound with bunker but get lost from there any tips would be great

One more thing, the savegame feature isn't working for me. I save it through the menu, then load through the parameters in the role select screen and it doesn't work. Any help?

If it doesn't work on its own, you can also use this on the server.
