Chaos Terrain Mod - Slaanesh Corruption Paints the Map Purple

Description
Chaos Terrain Mod - Slaanesh Edition
Chaos Corruption Paints the Campaign Map Purple with Tendrils of Soporific Musk
The creeping tide of Slaanesh now menaces your campaign, gone are dull grey stonescapes, now the land is marked with the purple tendrils of Slaanesh. Will you dissipate the musk into aether, or will you paint the Warhammer world purple? Witness the terraformation of a daemon world, or wash out every spot of murky hell.

Description:
Chaos Terrain Mod changes the Chaos creep dds files from dull grey landscaping supplies to a musk and tendril purple texture befitting the triumph of Slaanesh. Wherever Chaos creep is applied because of Chaos corruption, the purple textures will be used.

Limitations:
It still snows on top of Chaos creep, like vanilla Chaos creep the texture is not visible in Norsca, Naggaroth, or land with snow, and some other map textures will override it. Chaos creep does not render at the battle preview screen.

Chaos creep textures do not render on battle maps. CA did include a terrain dds for battle map creep, which this mod also replaces with a purple texture, however like vanilla creep it doesn't appear to be applied in battle. Let me know if you have or can get vanilla or this mod's Chaos creep textures to appear on battle maps.

Modding Creep:
There is enormous potential for a talented texture artist to make excellent creep mods for Chaos, Undead, and Skaven. The gameworld can be much more than an asphalt carpark when the Realm of Chaos wins the day. This mod tries to be fun and serviceable, but a talented texture modder could really do the idea justice. Any texture can be substituted for vanilla Chaos creep. See this mod's structure for the files to be modded. The dds files are located at terrain -> textures -> campaign -> default -> creep -> chaos.

There are four Chaos creep dds diffuse files, one normal, and one spectacular/gloss. They can be edited in GIMP, make them tileable, and save as DXT5 with minmaps. The diffuse and normal textures are 1024x1024, the spectacular is 256x256. Total War normal maps need to be orange, not blue, see Magnar's tutorial here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALr43DLoud8

The four Chaos creep diffuse textures are layered by the game engine around settlements and the campaign map. Some need to be fairly transparent to avoid hard edges, particularly 0, see the vanilla creep files for an idea of how CA implement it. 3 is applied in the circle immediately around cities, and 1 and 2 are applied on the wider map. Part of the challenge is the maps need to share a normal and spectacular map, and because they are layered by the game engine, need to be progressively more filled out versions of the same texture. I settled on a light texture for 0, and the full texture for 1, 2, 3. Better modders may have better implementations.

Compatibility:
Graphical mod. Only changes the dds Chaos creep files. Will work with anything unless it also changes those same dds files, then whichever mod loads first will apply.

Blood Edition:
Purple not your style? Want to paint the map red with blood and gore for a certain blood and gore god? See the blood edition here:

Is there a Skaven corruption terrain paint mod?

The purple looks really cool! Thanks for making this. Can you make a version that keeps the purple but removes the bubbling lava effect?

Any chance for a blue version as Mixu's Aekold Helbrass is a Tzeentch lord and few other birdy mods?

@Lyssiar
I had a few attempts at a Nurgle terrain (checked and I have 17 packfile variants saved) and wasn't happy with them, maybe I was too harsh a marker. I can upload them somewhere and if you like one or more let me know and I can upload them to the workshop or you can just use one yourself:
https://easyupload.io/m/loysyh

Copy to your "Steam\steamapps\common\Total War WARHAMMER II\data" folder and they'll appear in the launcher.

Hello, i love your mod for the chaos corruption and the vampire corruption ! :prlove:
But just a question for a friend, that can be possible to have a green (Nurgle) version ? He is a big fan of Nurgle and if you make a version his version i pretty sure he will take it. :rozsmile:

Love the neon purple look of the corruption. Thank you for this :)

Ah I see, I will just use that version then, thanks! I think a Skaven corruption version is more needed to complete the trilogy of corruption :)

@Hawkins
The best fix for blockiness around low corruption cities is the Blood & Gore edition. I couldn't get a good Slaaneshi unique texture, tried some cloud and gas variants and other ideas but didn't come off. If you like I can recolour the Blood & Gore texture purple and upload on the weekend.
