Description
Purpose
The Hercules is designed to operate as a lightly armed mobile mining facility, set up as both a PAM Controller to manage its two mining ships and a SAM station for two autopiloted cargo shuttles and a personal shuttle. It has both Atmospheric and hydrogen thrusters, although it uses the atmospheric as its main lift, and can fly with full cargo without requiring the use of hydrogen.

Recommended Miners:
  • All MK1 Tunnel Miners
  • All MK2 Tunnel Miners
Ships recommended for use with the Hercules can be found in the ISL Small Grid Miners collection and the Callisto Cargo drones collection.

To avoid collisions between the hangar and miners when using the PAM script's path recording, first park your mining ship orientated as shown in the screenshot, then start path recording, undock and, lifting up only enough to avoid thruster damage, move out of the hangar sideways until fully clear, then turn towards your job site and fly normally.

Staying low is important, as the PAM script flies to a waypoint a certain height above the connector (If docking vertically) before docking, and if the path recorded is too high, PAM will save that waypoint inside the hangar roof.

Full cargo (as indicated on the LCD in the cabin) is:
• All docks Occupied (tested with Tunnel Miner MK 2, Phoebe and Loki)
• Large cargo container full of Ore
• Small Cargo container full of Components
• O2/H2 Generators full of Ice
• Ammunition in the 8 turrets

The hydrogen thrusters can be used in conjunction with the atmo. thrusters to escape planetary gravity, but can only do so if the Large Cargo container is not full (otherwise the ship has a 6000m maximum altitude), which shouldn't be a problem on the return trip, as the atmo. thrusters will take over at a lower altitude. This way the Hercules can be used for asteroid mining.

The AT 1280's miner hangar is designed for carrying Tunnel Miners, for the version that fits Quarry miners, try the Hercules-AQ 1280.

Blarg's Ascent Cruise Control script is also installed, for convenience and to save hydrogen on the way to orbit.

There is a basic refinery and assembler onboard, for any emergency repairs only.

IMPORTANT: this ship is designed for carrying Ore only in its main cargo container (although the small container can carry components). Components and ingots are much heavier per volume than ore.

IMPORTANT: Although the SAM script is set up as a station on the Hercules, it can still also be used to autopilot the ship. However, once the "start" command has been given, all connectors with the [SAM] tag will disconnect, including the shuttle docks. So before using the Autopilot feature, ensure that there are no ships docked to any of the connectors on the deck (LCD readout is available in the cabin).

Thanks for the help, I do use your ships alot as I tend to use the same colours lol Love the burnt orange! But yes... Darn them Plugins! Not sure why that one is affecting this ship though but now we know.

I did it into a world that had I think just the Build and Repair system... I copyed the bugged ship again and pasted it close to a BARS and it repaired it... though it looked find so I'm not sure but yeah One sec... Ok Vanilla game, Copy of the bugged ship, same thing, toggled power to the block, nope. Toggled grid, same, move the Projector to the left and then back same thing. Very odd thing. OK so took me an hour but I've now worked out whats been going on. Its a Script, Multi-grid Projector by viktor it needs the Plugin Loader that loads with the game, so even with a Vanilla world it still has the plugins loaded... I do feel a little stupid for not thinking about the plugins before though.

Hmm, I think you might have found a really interesting bug there.

What happens if you paste that bugged out grid into a different single player game with no mods?

If you like, upload the bugged out version and ink it so I can see if it does the same thing on my side

So I've Copy/Pasted same thing, I spawn in one, that is 100% fine, I remove the OG projector and use the new one's Projector that has all the settings, past that into place same thing. A brand new projector built in its place, it shows not complete at all, seems it might be something to do with the grid itself, its odd as I've not added anything to it. JUST pasted it into my build world that only has like one or two mods, same thing...

Ok, sounds like you have tried all the things I could think of, apart from using admin to copy/paste it (sometimes that exorcises Klang).

If it is not working properly this evening, I'll update the workshop version, sometiems that can fix any weirdness

Hey, Singleplayer have mods and no it was aligned find, I did check, Lifted it up and back into the settings you had in the Projector. Its an odd one but will check again tomorrow sometime just to do some tests.

@Chrisbitz - Unfortunately not, but any sufficiently large wall of welders will work

@Cpt Pillowy Giant - That sounds very strange, I opened up SE and pasted in a copy of the ship to check, and I can't find an issue.

But what could be happening (although maybe you would have noticed already) is that the projector somehow got out of alignment?

If that is not the case, then my next questions is, are you playing in single or multiplayer? and If its multiplayer, are you the host?

So I've got this AT 1280 variant and whiel it got damaged, the Projector seems to be telling me a bunch of items are still yet to be build, Large thrusters for one. Three needs to be built, But I'm 90% sure theres only 6 on the AT 1280. I even tried reloading the Projector just to make sure it was the AT variant it had loaded, Moved it out and back in but same thing... Not really sure whats going on though...

I don't suppose you have a BP for a large ship printer that works with the fantastic Hercules?
