Description
Updates to 1.4 will be postponed until further notice. If someone wants to update to 1.4 you are welcome to do so. Source code is available on github. Link in description.

I have updated this mod for 1.1 and 1.2, fixed a few small errors, and updated some of the terminology. All other credit goes to the original mod author, P-90-For-Retail. Original mod can be found here: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1745629632

Non-Steam Link: https://github.com/troopersmith1/Aspergers1.1/releases/

Original Description:

Adds Autism to the Rim. It is an uncommon spectrum of traits which alters colonists stats. Ever wondered why your pawn always plays chess by themselves? Why they constantly repeat the same activities? Maybe they have Autism.

This mod adds the trait "Autism" with stats:

-MentalBreakThreshold increased by 0.08
-PainShockThreshold decreased by 0.08
-RestRateMultiplier multiplied by 0.80
-PsychicSensitivity Reduced by 100%
-Intellectual skill increased by 2
-Social skill decreased by 4

OR

-PsychicSensitivity Reduced by 100%
-Artistic skill increased by 6
-Social skill decreased by 5

OR

-PsychicSensitivity Reduced by 100%
-Artistic skill increased by 2
-Intellectual skill increased by 2

OR

-PsychicSensitivity Reduced by 100%
-Crafting skill increased by 4

This mod is save game compatible, but I don't recommend removing it mid game unless you want to edit your saves manually.

@VexTheHex03 very true! would love to see an added variety that shouts out the tendency of some autistic people to be hyper empathetic. that said, this is super interesting and like @Avarice said adds some interesting variety (and I'm pumped to see the variety) though it's impossible of course to cover the whole spectrum :)

other ideas for varieties I think would be cool, just because I'm here and autistic and love rimworld: increased manipulation, DOUBLED psychic sensitivity and increased break risk, decreased social/increased animals skill!!! (gotta shout out that autistic stereotype that we all like animals more than people. not entirely wrong), increased psychic sensitivity and sight and hearing (maybe with a low grade pain level to mimic sensory disorder)

Not ALL autism is a social hinderance, by the way.

It's impossible to make a autism mod cover the whole spectrum... so Don't try! This adds some interesting spice to the game,

pain shock threshold for example, one of the big hints my brain was wired a bit "differently" was when I took a HOT plate out of the microwave that was used to cook about 4 bags of popcorn. My reaction was to turn around and place said plate on the floor, It took a bit for the blisters to heal from that one.

name change? hope you didn't have to jump through too many hoops making people happy with the name, as a person who is autistic and who is playing a game where I can make human leather seats for all I care the name could have been "tard addanator" infact it would have gave me a laugh.

In terms of motor skills, savantism is an exception, not a rule.

@all

Minor update to future proof the mod name, will no longer change.

@TurtleShroom Many autistic people have great motor skills. Many excel at activities that involve having good motor skills such as playing instruments, having very professional handwriting, touch typing etc. Its completely dependent on the individual. I am not neurotypical (I do not have autism) and I have worked closely with many young children - teenagers who were on the spectrum. Their motor skills completely varied from one another.
