Description
A version of this map using workshop trees and a custom theme is located here: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2036110088

From the guy who makes such inventive names like Vanilla Coast, here is... Sunset Harbor. You don't need any DLC to play this map, but if you *do* get Sunset Harbor, this map has all four fish types. The locations of different fish types depends on the map maker. They have to do with the current and depth of water.

Anchovy: shallow + still water
Salmon: shallow + flowing water
Shellfish: deep + still water
Tuna: deep + flowing water

Because of the water physics, the one difficult fish to design into a map is Tuna. The best way I've found is to have a narrow straight through which flows a very rapid and deep flow of water.

The land, with lots of pockets of water and rolling hills, is meant to be like northern fishing areas that were under glacial ice, for example Maine USA, Sweden, Finland and such.

what mod/asset are the houses in the 2nd screenshot?

@Roq I mean from a geographical standpoint

It's a well thought out map with everything you need in the right places and a nice touch with tree choice and placement... Extra tile mods are useful though to take over areas just outside of control for infrastructure / detailing or if you just want a huge map of course. Not sure why I'm commenting (confusion probably) here as I'm using the DLC version, but I'm sure the vanilla version is almost as good, bar vanilla trees and such...

I'm confused because the map has shipping lanes that reach so many places, including the start square.
Anyhow, in similar real life locations with this topography, not everywhere on the shore is going to be able to serve as a port due to the need for deep water. This is also simulated in the map with the placement of the shipping lanes.

@jordanferazza am playing on it, looks to me that it will work best with a 25 tile mod later on.

It would be nice if the start was somewhere strategic so that you don't have unrealistic empty sea spots, but this map isn't too bad in that respect

@charalinedreemurr it's temperate, and there's also a mod that allows you to safely convert a map or a save game into another region - Environment Changer by Bloody Penguin.

What region is this map located? Is it temporate, boreal or european?

Yes they work! they just looked odd, LOL...Thank you for your reply, you are very kind. And again, thank you for the wonderful maps - not all of us are creative and appreciate those of you who are!

Yup, everything is okay. See, the default game does not allow you to build tunnels in the map editor. Mods had to be created to achieve this. The game renders all items in unpurchased land differently, I believe for optimized performance. Go to the edge of your purchased land and see how different the highways and railroads look once they leave your area. This applies to tunnels, too.
They may be covered over, but the tunnels still work. :)
