Tamamo no Hat Kid

Description
"They're like, ultra-problematic children." - Green Archer

Gotta rewrite this cause character limit...

This mod adds in 3 main things: 4 dyes, a new hat flair for each hat using the same model, and 3 cosmetic items changed in the mod config.

-Dyes: Cas-ko, Cat-ko, Ko-yanskaya, and Sen-ko, based on Tamamo No Mae, Tamamo Cat, Tamamo Vicchi, and Senko respectively. Unlocked immediately, largely Bow Kid compatible. I think. Haven't really tested.

-Flair: All hats get a flair of Tamamo's Bow, differentiated in the menu by showing the hat it is a flair for in the corner of the flair icon. Brewing flair has a custom throwing object, and the Dweller Mask flair has custom eyes.

-Cosmetics: Changed in the mod menu, you can add fox ears, a fox tail, or a cosmetic version of Tamamo's bow to your character. Ears and tail have 7 options (Off, On, Dyed, Virtual, Dyed Virtual, Wireframe, Colored Wireframe), bow has 4 due to being dyed normally (Off, On, Virtual, Wireframe). *New styles in update: Double Dyed, Blue, Red, Orange, Black, Double Virt, Blue Virt, Red Virt, Orange Virt, and Black Virt. Names with colors have the colors apply to the parts that would normally be white.

Also from now on I am only including the patch notes here for the last 2 updates, if I even update it even more. For more patch notes they should be in the actual patch notes tab since I would copy and paste patch notes into the mod description.

UPDATE 6/3/2024

Hey all, Metal here.

So funny story, this update has been done for awhile, but I forgot to release it and then life got in the way of things. So I am glad to finally release this. Also worth saying this all works on my end, but I know sometimes modding is weird and there could be conflicts so hopefully this works for you guys as well.

All that aside, this update is largely to add more customization to the ears and tail, all done through the mod config while in the ship. For both virtual and normal styles, there are now several new styles all around changing the colors of the white fluff on each cosmetic. These are designated by color and style, and come in red, blue, orange, and black. For example, changing to the low poly virtual model with the fluff recolored to blue, you would need to go and select Blue Virt! from the mod config.

That is not all however, as there is also a new dyed variant, named in the config as Double Dyed or Double Virt for the normal and low poly models respectively. The main part is still tied to hair color or texture, but with the double dyed variants the white fluff is now tied to Orange color on a dye, aka the color of the button on top of Hat Kid's zipper.

Mod is unchanged outside of these new styles for the ears and tail.

@Starwarp01 In the pause menu, there is a mod menu, at the bottom of the screen if I recall. Find the mod in there, and you can not only toggle the ears, tail, and bow on or off, but also choose different textures (and in one case model) to use, such as wireframe, low poly, dyed, etc.

is there any way to turn off the ears?
Johnson Bohnson  [author] 29 May, 2021 @ 6:00pm
@LegenTerry Yes, although there are options in the mod menu! You can disable them, put on a bow, and swap textures for dyability, wireframe, and I believe I also have a low poly one in there as well, been awhile so I don't quite remember off the top of my head.

is this the mod that added fox ears and tail to my character by default? if so i really like that idea.

It will be interesting to see how much better they look)

Honestly that is likely. In a build I haven't released (yet) I touched up the Tamamo Vicchi skin a bit more and edited the capes, and other than the Vicchi one I think they look bettter, especially the OG Tamamo and Cat ones.

The costumes came out very well, but I hope that in future updates it will still be possible to make the capes transparent.
