Description
The Lanfang Republic was a Chinese kongsi federation established in 1777 in Western Borneo. Kongsi were private companies consisting of laborers that provided capital, shared profits, and participated in government. Lanfang's primary industry was mining, particularly of gold and tin, and the organization lasted as a tributary of the Qing Empire for over a hundred years until its eventual takeover by the Dutch.

For more information, see the Civ V Customization Wiki[civilization-v-customisation.wikia.com]

Leader: Luo Fangbo

Kongsi Federation: May construct Mines on flat, resource-less terrain without removing Forest or Jungle. When a City works four Mines for the first time, the next available Social Policy Branch is adopted.

Lansaai: Slightly stronger and heals fully on defeating an enemy Unit. Double Movement in rough terrain. Spawns a Gold resource when clearing Ancient Ruins, Barbarian Encampments, or defeating an enemy in neutral territory. If a Settler is being produced when this happens, it is given a slight Production boost. Replaces the Scout.

Zongting: +1 Production on Gold resources for every two adopted Social Policy Branches (including an Ideology). City must have an improved source of Gold. Replaces the Mint.

Love this mod - redownloaded civ V just to try it out. Really creative. I'm not sure if you're still maintaining this, but I'm having a problem with the civ ability. It functioned as expected for the first 6 cities (pretty sure it was 6 free unlocks, could have been five). I settled my last 4 cities, for 10 total, and focused most of my cities on growth. Once I was ready, I manually assigned 3 mines/quarries in all my cities, and ended the turn, but I didn't get the patronage (my last one) or any freedom tenets. I tried next turn reducing it to 7 cities with mines, to see if it needed the exact number, and it still didn't trigger. Would love to understand what's happening and how to get the expected outcome.

I don't think Lan Feng militias would have green banner uniforms with a Manhu style hat. Give them traditional Hakka clothing instead would be more suitable.

Glad to find such a meaningful mod. The Lanfang Republic is the kind of history that will never appear in textbooks. Hope this mod could support Chinese, no matter simplified or traditional. Thank you!

Hi @spin, I've tried a game with all the details you mentioned and it seems to unlock the policy tree correctly. If you happen to have logging enabled [forums.civfanatics.com] then you should be able to check the My Documents/My Games/Civ V/Logs/Lua.txt file for the print statements - it should tell you how many policy trees are waiting to be unlocked, how many cities are required and the ID of the unlocked policy.

Hi @pork bean, I'm using G+K and BNW as well (unless there's some ticky box I need to check to play those? I played the New World scenario with all the native factions, which means that BNW should be enabled regardless).

Hi @spin thanks for the report. Can I ask what version of the game you're using? I've only tested for G+K and BNW.

Does not unlock Social Policy tree for me. (single MOD enabled, cache emptied, Quick game)
It *does* tell me that one is enabled, but when I look at the Social Policy tab no new Policy trees have been unlocked.
