Description
This mod makes title grants much more immersive. Have you ever wondered how characters in CK2 hate you for being a foreigner, a foreign conquerer, infidel, heretic etc. but when you give titles to such characters, nobody in your realm has ANY opinion about it? Well, no more!

With this mod, every character in your realm will either be happy or unhappy about title grants based on cultural, religious and personal reasons!

Hopefully this will make your title grants much more organic like a true medieval lord, rather than simply giving new titles to some random lowborn. After all, what the other lords and even the public in your realm think should carry some meaning!

FEATURES
- Upon granting any Count-tier or above title to any character, all characters, 14-years old and above, in your realm will have an opinion about it based on different reasons.
------------------------
Religious reasons:
------------------------
  • Characters in your realm will be UNHAPPY about the title grant if they:
    • are not the same religion as the new title holder.
    • have the same religion as the county which was granted, but the new holder is of a different religion.
  • MORE upset if:
    • consider the new holder a heretic of their religion.
    • have Theocratic government.
    • are Zealous.
    • are Holy Warrior.
  • LESS upset if:
    • share religion group with the new holder.
    • are Cynical.
  • An exception are the Indian religions, as they are very tolerant of each other. The opinion maluses based on religious reasons will not apply if: a character is NOT Zealous and both him/her and the new holder belong to an Indian religion.
  • Characters in your realm will be HAPPY about the title grant if they:
    • share religion with the new holder, but not with the title granter.
    • share religion with the new holder and the new holder has their religion-specific Crusader trait.
    • share religion with the new holder AND are Zealous or Theocratic AND the new holder has high piety.
      • Piety tiers: 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 800, >1000
----------------------
Cultural reasons:
----------------------
  • Characters in your realm will be UNHAPPY about the title grant if they:
    • are not the same culture as the new title holder.
    • have the same culture as the county which was granted, but the new holder is of a different culture.
    • are Count-tier and above and the title was granted to a lowborn character. Nobility does not like lowborns rising in status. On the other hand, all lowborn characters will be happy!
      • "Theocratic characters" and "Republic characters without a landed feudal close relative" will not be upset about title grants to lowborns.
  • MORE upset if:
    • are Proud.
    • are Ambitious
  • LESS upset if:
    • share culture group with the new holder.
    • are Content.
  • Characters in your realm will be HAPPY about the title grant if they:
    • share culture with the new holder, but not with the title granter.
------------------------
Personal reasons:
------------------------
  • Characters in your realm will be UNHAPPY about the title grant if they:
    • have a claim on the title.
    • are a Powerful Vassal of yours and the title was granted to someone not of their dynasty.
    • belong to your dynasty and the title was granted to someone of another dynasty.
    • are a Foe of the new holder or have lower than -50 opinion of the new holder.
  • MORE upset if:
    • are Proud.
    • are Ambitious
  • LESS upset if:
    • are Humble
    • are Content.
  • Characters will be HAPPY if they:
    • are mother or father of the new title holder.
    • are a Power Vassal and the new holder is from their dynasty.
    • belong to the same dynasty as the new title holder.
    • are a Friend or Lover of the new holder or have at least 75 opinion of the new holder.
--------
MISC.
--------
  • Opinion bonus is directed only towards the ruler who granted the title.
  • Opinion malus is directed towards both the ruler who gave the title and the new holder of the title.
  • Opinion malus is higher for a higher tier title (e.g. granting a Kingdom will upset the respective people more than granting a County).
  • Landless characters will have a weaker opinion as compared to landed characters.
  • Advancements in "Tolerance" technology will reduce the opinion malus due to "Cultural and Religious reasons".
  • Advancements in "Noble Customs" technology will reduce the opinion malus due to "Personal reasons".
  • All technology effects happen at tech levels: 2, 4, 6 and 8 with higher levels giving more reduction to opinion malus.

COMPATIBILITY
  • Compatible with ALL mods! This includes overhaul mods such as HIP and CK2+.
  • Can be added to and removed from save games.
  • Disables Achievements.

I don't understand why I only get the opinion modifier with lowborn, the nobles of my kingdom don't get ungry when I give land to a lowborn.

I understand the ideas behind the mod but this one in the set that you've made is probably the worst in my personal opinion, it feels like im destroying my relations with all the vassals i have if I grant titles to anyone

Kudos on a good job it's a good mod regardless

@Jessy2299 and @Donald Trump: Thank you for pointing out the bugs. I have pushed an update which should fix these. Please refer to the Change Notes for all the fixes. The update is save-friendly.

If I'm not wrong, this is making family members of nobility be considered "lowborn" as well. You ccan literally give a prince a title and proud/ambitious vassals will still be unhappy. Is this intended?

Sorry if i'm unclear I mean if im for exemple William the conquerer, a norman and I grant let say the county of Essex to an Anglo-Saxon, my character (William) will gain an negative opinion malus toward the new count of Essex... Althoug this wont affect the Player, the AI on the other hand will likely do hostile action toward that new count.

@Jessy2299: Sorry I don't understand. The opinion modifier of the player character towards whom? Himself? A person cannot have an opinion modifier of himself in the game anyway. Or are you talking about the character's opinion of someone else?
Jessy2299 22 Apr, 2020 @ 6:39pm
Nice mod, but you should remove the opinion modifier for your character since you're the person granting it you should not be angry because you grant a title to an other culture for exemple.

@Norden_Guard: Ok I did some testing. This mod is fully compatible with Better Looking Garbs Full and works fine. All of my other mods also work fine except one: The crash you are experiencing is when Better Looking Garbs Full is used with [LMM] Religious and Cultural Hatred. I tried looking into the issue but can't seem to find the problem. I will see what can be done about that.
