Description
The SKINFAXI Patrol- & Escort-Gunship is a small-grid Fast Attack Craft for Space-flight or low-gravity environments. It features two extra seats for gunners, multiple gatling turrets and a mix of Ion- and Hydrogen-Thrusters.

This ship is full vanilla and easy to build in survival. It is fully conveyed, thruster-damage compatible and pre-loaded with uranium and ammunition. No Mods were used in this build.

Caution: Due to the behavior of the turrets UI, the sometimes manage to hit eachother or the ships hull - especially if you're performing complex manouvers during combat. Handle with care!

Description
The SKINFAXI was designed to serve as a highly manuverable gunboat, capable to defend larger vessels as well as to take on multiple small-grid targets. The ship can easily pull its own weight on low-gravity moons with hydrogen-thrusters turned off, but will not be able to operate planetside without additional thrusters mounted to the hull.

Key-features of the SKINFAXI are a total of ten turrets, combined with four fixed gatling-guns plus a set of manually loaded rocket launchers, operated by the pilot. Additional to the main cockpit, the vessel provides two extra seats, allowing to manually operate the turrets.

Due to its size the SKINFAXI offers limited possibilites to effectively being stored on a carrier vessel, the ship is suited to be self-sustainable within its range of operations. This includes cargo-space for additional ammunition, crew-supplies and spare parts as well as O2/H2-generators and tanks, requiring the ship only to return to its home-base for resupplying. Powersupply is provided by a large reactor, backed up by a set of four batteries in order to further prolong the time of operation and assist during power-spikes. An onboard-projector allowes for easy field-repairs using spare components from the cargo-containers.


Lore
Rapid expansion of industrial colonies within the outer regions of the Tannhauser Expanse provided a growing flow of valuable resources throughout the system. So it was only a matter of time until the poorly guarded excavation-sites and outposts caught the attention of organized crime. First raids with a decent success-rate demanded the corporations to increase their defences and provide additional protection of their workers and assets.

As Already an already established provider of industrial- and utility-crafts, V.M.E introduced the Valkyrie Mk II and significantly increased her combat-potential due to a ridiculous increase in firepower.
However, while succeeding in securing operations on the ground, the rules changed drasticly when the first outpost was established on the moon.

pirate-vessels operating form space tend to outnumber and outgun the few escort-ships that were able operate in space. On demand of Perseus R&D, V.M.E pushed forward the release of a specialized version of their Valkyrie, much more suited for space-flight. Even though the ships proved successful, the handful of pilots capable to operate the fighters still faced a continuely growing number of opponents.

In order to even the odds, V.M.E introduced the "Rist"-project and began to destribute a new gunship-design to selected costumers. The vessel was capable to host multiple automated turrets while it could be operated by a single pilot. First encounters proved successful as the Rist was able to screen vulnerable transporters against multiple enemy targets at once. However the rather basic AI of the ships turrets acted very random in their selection of targets. To increase effectiveness, two additional gunnery-seats were added so the turrets could be operated manually.

Flying in packs of 2-3 vessels, the gunship was capable to overwhelm pretty much every pirate-encounter and quickly draw the attention of the colonial armed forces. Over the next months, the Rist-Prototype was further optimized. The large hull allowed the ship to carry a vast amount of supplies and fuel, making it very enduring for a small, not jump-capable gunboat. Eventually the ship was released as the SKINFAXI-class and became the main patrol-vessel of Joint Luna Base.

@Sarven: I'm currently working on five other designs and hope I'll manage to release the next ship within the coming week. In long terms I have a full line-up planed which consists of a whole military fleet including capital ships and ground vehicles, plus a selection of civilian and industrial ships.

So yes, there will definitely be more. ;)
