Sartosa Free Company

Description
What?
This mod adds a bunch of still-breathing pirates and mercenaries for that wretched hive of scum and villainy - Sartosa!

Units added:
Sartosan Gunners - pirate handgunners
Sartosan Mercenaries - landlubber halberdiers
Sartosan Swashbucklers - veteran pirates with sword & pistol
Sartosan Carronade - pirate cannon
Sartosan Mortar - pirate mortar
Order of the Bloated Purse - (RoR) washed up knights for hire
Sons of Kaleb - (RoR) norse marauder mercenaries
Blackwind Corsairs - (RoR) knife-ears, fallen on hard times.
Grog Bombers - (RoR) Extremely drunk grenadiers.

LORD SKILLS & RESEARCH: the new units do benefit from some skills & technology but nothing specific to the undead i.e. if it's a buff targeted at 'zombies' they won't get it because they aren't zombies. If it's a more generic 'ranged infantry' buff then they should.

Why?
I rather like the inclusion of Sartosa as part of the vampire coast update because it's not like they were high on the list of minor factions likely to get their own tailor-made content. Still, Sartosa isn't a graveyard and while the vamps and zombies might make up the vanguard of this new fleet this mod adds the option of recruiting more living troops.

More?
New Model Empire - A major military reform act from Karl Franz
Reiksguard Foot - elite Empire units
Armoured Empire - Empire state troops with extra armor
The Lost and the Damned - cultists for chaos and mortals for vampire counts
Sensible rebels - rebel armies wont spawn with elite units
The Lost and the Damned 2: Full Mortal Jacket - an expanded mortal army for the vampire counts
Mercenaries - a modding resource for those looking to add mercenaries to any faction
Aaahh!!! RARE Monsters - reduced unit size for ghosts
Huntsmarshal Tweaks - reduced hostility & modified Imperial Supply units

Thank you for making me want to play this faction.

IIRC some are recruited from the port building chain, check there.

How do you access the new units? I turned on the mod and loaded up a new game, but the buildings and ship all have the usual units, none of the stuff from the mod.

As expected, the achievement does not pop. At least not with the sartosan gunners (pistol) which seem like the obvious counterpart to the free companies.

The mod does add some real cool units and especially the swashbucklers are badass and I love the look of the gunners with the disheveled flagellant look and the nice hats.Very nice.

I think probably not then but I'll give it a shot and report back on it. Thanks for the answer at least!

IIRC the new units have been given certain tags that identify them as sartosan pirates/militia for the purposes of benefiting from research/lord skills etc - absolutely no idea if this would affect achievements, as far as I know we cant mod them in any way

This seems like an interesting mod and I'm gonna play Aranessa once I'm done with my Kraka Drak campaign, but I was wondering if the sartosan gunners would still trigger the motley crew achievement for Aranessa? If so, I'll do vortex because that didn't trigger in mortal empires.

If not, I'll do mortal empires again because vampire corrupting Norsca is just too damn funny.
