Riallwood - High Template Pack

Description
Through the trees you can just about see the subtle outline of rooftops and the forms of a town hidden in the forest's heart. The masterwork of House Riall's crafters is an impressive sight and one you may study if you wish...

A custom template pack made with the Ascendancy in mind. This offers an alternate building style to the vanilla faction templates. This was designed to work with the release candidate and provide a fairly balanced way for you to make a new settlement. You will need to manage at least one grove of trees, a quarry for stone, and a clay pit to build a decent sized town.

You will also need a carpenter, mason, potter and weaver to complete these templates.

Please feel free to leave any comments and feedback below, I do read everything.

ACE COMPATIBILITY:
-------------------------------
These templates were designed without any mods installed using the base engine.

Some of these templates are not compatible with the ACE mod and will hang during building. If any of these buildings do not build for you with ACE installed please do the following:
- Turn on automatic crafting in your settings menu
- Place the template and tell it to build.
- PAUSE THE GAME
- Check and see which objects are NOT showing up in your crafter's menu.
- Delete the template before it can be fully built.
- Delete any items which your crafter isn't automatically adding to their queue and replace them with the ACE versions

Follow this list for any mods that are causing for these templates to hang.

---------------------------------
SOME NOTES FROM PLAYTESTING:
- If buildings appear to hang check your carpenter. Sometimes the wooden lanterns appear too low in the queue and this causes a temporary stall. Move them to the top position and things will resume.

- The engineer might hang if your hearthlings get distracted whilst putting up the scaffolding. Build a ladder to the points where this happens and the build will complete.

As the Forest is a much more abundant biome than the others, I went with complexity as the main device to ramp up the difficulty a bit. If playing on Normal and Hard you will need to build carefully or you will have a Mountain of trouble before you're ready for it.

(Thankyou to Ultranova for pointing this next one out)
- For the players, watch out, the bigger buildings can take over 30 minutes of playtime to complete, but they are worth it.

Hiya, love the builds ( I may have them all and curse myself every time to not disable the other factions and have to sift through everything when building) My query is to the rando 5 clay bricks required in a few builds, i try to find them to delete, but cant seem to locate them, as I see no point as to having them in the build. Any chance of letting a person know where you may have hidden them?

Got a few questions if you don't mind, from the full Riallwood set.

1) In both Riall Basic and High, why doesn't the Trapper have their own place? Even granting there's not really much 'interesting' about the job in vanilla it seems weird that there's no house for them specifically.

2) Why no apartment attached to the cook shop? Again, it seems odd to me that of all the hearthling jobs that have a work space, the cook is the only one that doesn't get a house.

3) In Riallwood High, why do some of the upgraded templates like the potter and smith especially remain as one person units while other crafters are increased to two?

4) Why do some of the basic templates such as the tavern, cookshop, monument (presuming not the Phoenix Pillar) and shrine not get improved versions in the High Template Pack?

5) I've noticed a number of people querying you about ACE, and I'll agree there's certainly something to be said about tweaks for it. A more interesting question though would be: are there any plans for possibly getting an expansion pack that includes builds for other mod added jobs/professions? Cases in point, ACE's Brewer and Painter, the Miner, the Hunter, the 'upgraded' Trapper from Trapper+, Firefly Clan's Beast Master, the various magic users, Nordlings' Lords, etc.

Hey man, loving the styles, but i do have a question... Will you ever make an ACE eddition to this mod. As it stands now a TON of users on the modded front are hopping over to ACE as it just makes everything seem like a breath of fresh air with this game. Im not sure how much ACE made not work within your buildings but do you think it would be possible to make an ACE compatiable eddition for this mod, or alternatively has anyone saved the blueprints that will work with ace instead? Thanks, and keep up the building this shit looks fire.

Awesome I will try that next time this issue happens. Thanks for your support. :steamhappy:

Other times the game will just "nope" an entire construction just because your hearthlings are "busy" (although not really).

Since we have very limited dev support at this point it might be worth raising this with the ACE team. I don't plan on making any mods for this game that require coding as I don't have the time to support them, but if I did... Scaffolding would be my main thing to target.

Teal Deer - Build ladders to the object in red every time it hangs and the building should complete. Its stupid but it works.

@Whitebrow Thanks for posting these.

The problem is scaffolding, or more specifically, ladders. Its something I've been battling with my most recent packs.

The reason that it's 50/50 is that the hearthling who was supposed to build the ladder (in the pic with the lamp that won't place) got distracted and now that the bed is in the way, won't place the ladder. If you put a regular ladder up the wall the building will complete.

The second pic looks like it's hanging because the hearthling who was supposed to extend the scaffolding along the wall also decided to stop and have a chat, and now that section of wall is completed so they think they don't need to do their job anymore. If you put a manual ladder up the building will complete.

@Quwface so i got several of the same issue just recently. I have the item yet they do not know how to build it.

I tried to reload the save and that didn't work. I tried to delete the building and i'd say its a 50/50 chance of it happening again but to a different part.

I actually got the same issue with another user made template. Certain sections would go red and the construction would completely stop. Next time the issue comes up i will be sure to screenshot it.

I currently run an i7 6700 which isnt bad but also not great but i didnt think it was terrible enough to hang up like this. Possibly could be my rig. I hope not. Thanks

Hrrm... that is curious.

As there is no coding or programming component to these template packs I don't really have much to suggest as a fix. There are dozens of templates on my computer that I couldn't get my hearthlings to co-operate in building that someone with a more powerful computer was able to build. I do check my risky templates including the Inn from this pack every few months to see if the builder will still co-operate. I can't seem to replicate your problem but that doesn't mean I don't believe you.

Please could you post some screenshots so I can get a better idea of what might be causing the hang? (Other than your processor. Voxel games can produce very different results on seemingly identical machines)
