Description

Hello and welcome! I'm finally glad to introduce you, my very first map.

You'll be visiting 'ShadowZone', it's underground base, very old bunker which was upgraded and improved dozen of times. Now SZ is the main operational station for all other facilities in the region.

Although this is my first map, and i'm not a level designer, I did my best to make this map as much enjoyable and playable as official map. Although It' design rather outdated for KF2, you will find it more interesting if you enjoy KF1 style of maps. The whole map is connected so you won't probably be running into a dead end. All possible meshes were combined, in whole, I did my best to optimize this map, but if you're a good maps creator, and you have an advice, I will gladly take it. There is a 10 collectibles all over the map.

Besides of different references, there's a few easter eggs and a puzzle!

Very nice map. I enjoy kiting in the long corridors and I enjoy how the bunker feels lived in. Its a nice layout.

Would I be able to message you regarding the puzzle/secrets? Im interested in being able to solve them (ive spent several hours on the map) but if you dont want to spoil anything thats fine

No, it does not have enough space for serious difficulty games, especially with more than three players. There's a very good reason why people dislike maps such as KF-Catacombs and all the holdout maps. If in doubt - just open up server browser, and look up what maps are played by people on HOE/Suicidal servers.
But i'm sure someone is going to possibly/probably enjoy KF-ShadowZone, for what it is.

But yeah, open maps are good maps! I'll wait for your another two creations, and i'll definitely check them out! ;)

To anyone who wondering "what about sequel that you mention in description", yes, i have 2 maps around more than half done, still needs a lot ot work, as i'm trying to make it as best as it can be. The type is more like "Hostile Grounds", environment is more open, not like this one . Besides I have 1 more map planned in my mind that I surely wanna make, that's all for now.

Sraigius, appreciate the feedback, but i'll agree to disagree. In my opinion map have enough space to run, at least it always have somewhere to run. Anyway, i'm currently working on remastered (mostly just environment editing) version I may consider this stuff you said and edit some rooms, make it wider. Cheers!

Problematic level design, unfitting for HOE/Suicidal difficulties, but it can be played on hard/normal for 1-3 players.
Optimization is decent, runs well. Really liked graffitis on the walls!
I don't know, level design is just too complicated, unfitting for a game like Killing Floor 2, especially when it comes to kiting bosses or dealing with groups of zeds.

No rating on this one.
