Fallen Empire Military Ships & Stations
"Based on information gathered in our encounters with the Fallen Empires we have managed to develop our own variants of the Fallen Empire ships and stations. We have yet to find a way to use their weapon installations but we've managed to attach our own weapons to the hull of the ships and stations. Their energy processing is very efficient and the reactor cores are capable of producing tremendous power. The only downside is that they relatively expensive, both in their building costs as well as their maintenance."

While defeating Fallen Empire military ships and stations you'll get access to very rare and expensive technologies. When fully researched these will allow you to design and build your own versions of the Fallen Empire ships and stations. The colors used for the designs of the ships and stations you can build depend on the governing ethics of the country.

All Fallen Empire ships and station come with basic hull and armor generation. Their hullpoints are impressive, especially those of the new stations that can be build as an alternative for the Defense Platforms at starbases. They come with the same components configuration as the Fallen Empires have, but several alternatives are also available. For each section there are 6 templates to choose from. Depending on the ship a certain starbase size may be needed before they can start assembly.

The AI will use the ships and stations. The Fallen Empires will be boosted by this mod and will deploy more ships. This includes up to five titans per country.

Ships & Stations
Escort: Stronger than a destroyer but weaker than a cruiser, this vessel usually comes with point-defense weapons and uses it speed to make fast assaults.
Battlecruiser: Just a little bit weaker than a battleship and usually equipped with an extra large weapon and strike craft.
Titan: Massive flagship equipped with the Titan laser. Comes with aura components and many large weapons.
Defense Platform: Medium defense platform that can be build at a starbase for defensive purposes. Five times the amount of hullpoints of a defense platform and two and a half times the damage output. Capable of using aura components.
Fortress: Large defense platform that can be build at a for defensive purposes. Ten times the amount of hullpoints and four times the damage output. Capable of using aura components.
Colossus: A second colossus that can be build at Citadels with colossus assembly yards. Has aura components and its own graphical culture but otherwise identical to the Vanilla colossus. Requires Apocalypse DLC.

Colors
There are five different ship colors for the Fallen Empires that come with the Vanilla game. Which one you unlock depends on the ethics your country has:
  • Fanatic Spiritualist & Fanatic Authoritarian as well as having no fanatic ethic will result in the Beige & Blue variant.
  • Fanatic Materialist & Fanatic Egalitarian will result in the Silver & Seagreen variant.
  • Fanatic Xenophile & Fanatic Pacifist will result in the Brown & Blue variant.
  • Fanatic Xenophobe & Fanatic Militarist will result in the Black & Red variant.
  • Gestalt Consciousness will result in the Black & Orange variant of the Fallen Machine empire.

Compatibility
I've aimed to make this mod as compatible as possible. It doesn't overwrite any Vanilla files. Everything in this mod is an addition. The goal was to make it compatible with any mods that adds new ships or stations (the rest should be fine as well). Should also be compatible with mods that add the Fallen Empire ship sets but you'll only receive the technologies from the Fallen Empire countries or countries that deploy the ships and stations which come from this mod.

The ships from this mod won't become smaller when using Downscaled Ships.

When removed the ships and stations will all become invalid and be removed. However: invalid designs may be left over in the ship designer.

This mod was developed to be compatible with Military Ships Extended and Starbase Defenses Extended 2 but neither is required.

To view the titan sections correctly in the ship designer UI Overhaul 1080p Plus or something alike is required.

Notes
  • Compatible with existing saves. But it might throw some errors while trying to create the ships for the AI if they have not yet updated their designs.
  • Every ship and station has working turrets which are different depending on which shipset you're choosen. This should be compatible even with new shipsets that add new turret designs.
  • The Fallen Empire Titan ship, the Defense Station and the Fortress have access to the full range of aura components.
  • There are no technologies that improve the Fallen Empire ships or stations because it would break the lore.
  • The other countries will also get access to the new technologies and they will use them. AI countries will receive twice as much process in the research of these technologies for every Fallen Empire ship or station they destroy. Events are used to build these ships for the AI countries. Their ships are built for the base price but the same technology and starbase size restrictions apply.
  • Events are used to give technologies when Fallen Empire military ships and stations are destroyed.
  • The Fortress technology will only become available after research of the Defense Station technology and a bit of luck.
  • No DLC is needed, except for the Colossus. The rest of the Fallen Empire ships and stations come with the base game.
  • The Titan comes with the Titan Laser perdition weapon. The Colossus has full support for all planet killer weapons.
  • There are no limits to the amount of escorts and battlecruisers that can be build. A country can only build one Colossus (Fallen Empire) and a maximum of 20 Titans (Fallen Empire) with 180 fleet capacity needed for each. An AI country will never deploy more than five titans.
  • While researching the new technologies you might lose progress if you switch ethics.
  • Military Ships Extended contains name lists for this mod.

@Shoff I think no. I've only got a bunch of weponless titans. No escort nor battlecruiser

Someone told me this mod is working perfectly still (in June 2023 on Stellaris 3.8). That seems like a long time to still be working, but if there's no vanilla files modified, then I suppose it's possible.

Anybody have thoughts?

Hi

Quick question - aside for setting the AI weight to 0 on the research techs for these ships, do I need to do anything else to stop AI players from researching/using these?
