Why should you go for Domination victory
Why go for domination victory:
-1) You will get many wonders Same as Civ 5.
-2) When you capture a player's capital or cities, you gain boost to technology and civics (unlike Civ 5)
-3) You can settle an awesome peace treaty by getting a lot of gold or artworks per turn

Examples below: China paid me over 120 gold per turn.
Montezuma gave me some gold and his writing.

-4) to stop another player from snowballing or winning the game.
-5) Let's look at the victory types:
A) scientific victory: Probably the easiest victory type on deity or immortal
B) Religious victory: you are NOT guaranteed a religion on higher difficulties. Additionally, building Stonehenge is not as good as Civ 5.
C) Cultural Victory: very hard on immortal or deity. You have to compete with the AI for wonders and great people which is not easy.
D) Domination victory: The 2nd easiest victory condition.
Given the fact that the player is much better than the AI at unit movement, the player can win a domination victory much easier compared to religious victory or cultural victory.
Factors favor You vs AI.
Factors favour You
-As the game pace gets slower, it becomes more about unit movement. Since you are much better at unit combat than the AI, you should play on slower game pace (Play Epic or Standard). Additionally, AIs will get bonus production on higher difficulty. Therefore, you want to slow the game so you can eliminate all their units before they are replaced.
-Smaller Map type: If there is an AI that is snowballing, it is much easier to deal with them when they are closer to you than being farther away. The problem with huge maps is that you might not get to the Ai who is winning the game on time.
-Avoid continents or island maps. I recommend using pangea. You need to research the technology that allows you to embark units. By playing on a pangea map, you can always bring a land army and conquer the early on.
Oppurtunity costs of going to war
-As you prepare for war, you will need more military units. Therefore, you may fall behind on infrastructure or districts. Therefore, it is important to chose your target carefully. I recommend choosing the AI with the most amount of wonders or the tech leader because they will have very good districts.
-Another opportunity cost of war is losing wonders. As the difficulty level increases, your chance of being able to build world wonders decreases. It is much safer to conquer the civilization who has wonders than trying to build early wonders on high difficulty.
Civilizations of Choice
Please note: I will add here as I play with more Civs I don't have a lot of time.
-Alexander: Completely broken. If you thought Tomyris was strong, you will be blown away when you see the power of Alexander. You get a Free Eureka for Tech and Science for EVERY city you capture. There is no limit or cap to this! Therefore, just keep capturing cities and you will become the tech leader very fast. Additionally, Alexander can gain Science for his unique building ability which makes him further snowball. Lastly, you can bring down your opponents whether human or AI with war weariness. Since you do not get any war weariness, You can crush your opponents growth by prolonged wars. Personally, I think there should a limit on the number of techs and civics you can get eurekas.

-Tomyris (broken/Unbalanced, overpowered): she is probably the best Civilization for domination victory. In my opinion, she is even too overpowered. You can win deity with her very easily. As your units get a kill, they heal 30 points. Furthermore, you get a free copy of your units. What else do you need? As Larry would say "Get her done". In terms of brute force, I think she would be the most overpowered AI in the game.
-Amanitore (Broken/Unbalanced/overpowered)

-Cyrus (Balanced): He is awesome for domination victory for number of reasons. Firstly, when declaring a surprise war, your units have +2 movement points. This means that your artillery can move and shot on the same turn. As many people know, movement across train in Civ 6 can be cumbersome (compared to Civ 5). You can very quickly take out a player's capital. Secondly, No penalty for captured cities. Therefore, captured cities can function as your own. Between the AIs in the game, Cyrus will have the greatest mobility of units to quickly take out a target. Weakness: You may often be forced to do joint wars because it will reduce your warmonger points or when the opposing army is simply too large. Therefore, you may not be able to get the +2 movement for surprise wars. I hope developers bring back joint wars. Otherwise, +2 movement feature won't be able always.

As a side, I have included Many inspirational Civilization leaders

Diagram shows how my artillery can move and shoot in 1 turn. You also get bonus movement points even when your units are embarked

-Gorgo: She is very similar to Montezuma in Civ 5. As you kill enemy units, you gain 50% culture equal to their combat strength. If a domination victory fails, all the extra culture can easily earn you a cultural victory. In Civ 6, culture will add more to tourism. Therefore, Gorgo is at a great advantage here.

-Russia will add more
-Arabia will add more

How to create a strong army
I will update this very soon
Please note that artillery in Civ 6 has 2 range fire and no indirect fire. This means that if there is a hill in the way, the artillery wont be able to fire. However, the balloon chnages eveything. The balloon adds +1 range and gives artillery indirect fire. Here is proof

Social Policies
Social policies
This will largely depend on your situation.
Early on the choice is monarchy. When you see the exclamation mark at the top, you can change your policies for free.

Here are some suggestions:
-Most likely you want to pick the policy that will gives a boost toward melee and ranged units based on the era that you are in.
-You can also pick the policy that will give you gold when you kill a unit equal to 50% strength of the unit.
-Picking a policy that reducing unit maintenance is also important.
-Rationalism can be very important as more science allows you to build more advanced units.
-If you are lacking in growth, I recommend picking up serfdom which allows your builders 2 more actions. (If you have pyramids, you may not need this. Pyramids grants +1 action to your builders)
-If you have been at war constantly and are Not playing as Alexander, you can pick the policy that lowers your war weariness. (However, this might not be the best option)
-If you are fighting against Tomyris, you can pick the policy that reduces damage to your wounded units. Why would this be important? As you may remember, Tomyris has a unique ability that allows her units to heal when she kills an enemy. Additionally, her soldiers do more damage to wounded soldiers.
-Faith is also very important. If you are playing on emperor or higher, you are not guaranteed a religion. You can pick theocracy so that you can faith buy units. This can come in handy.
-Late game: Sadly democracy does not give a lot of military options. Therefore, you have to either pick communism or fascism. The choice between communism or fascism is based on how many military policies you want. I think communism is a safer choice. Note: If domination victory does not seem feasible anymore, you can consider democracy for the special district bonuses
Here is my late game policy (Note: I did build forbidden city)

After capturing a civilization with many wonders, I gained more policy slots. Thereofre, you can gain some benefit of the wonders without wasting time to build them
Wonders
What wonders you want to build and can build safely depend on the difficulty level
There are 2 key differences between Civ 5 and Civ 6
-1) Wonders in Civ 6 take a lot longer to build. Therefore, you have to make sure that you don't fall behind in other areas (ex: you don't lose your districts)
-2) While Civ 5 favoured a smaller empire, Civ 6 clearly allows a bigger empire. The penalties for a wide empire are not as hard as Civ 5. Therefore, you want to go wide. A wider empire means more units and greater military might.
Very powerful wonders
- Colosseum: This is perhaps the best wonder in the game. However, you may not get this on higher difficulty. China and Egypt have an adavnatge toward getting this wonder
-The venetian arsenal: Late game wonder and is very powerful. Since this wonder is late game, it is possible to build it on higher difficulties
-Oxford University: 2 free technologies and 20% Science in the city build are both awesome.
-Eiffel Tower: +2 Appeal is very nice

Wonders to AVOID (these are not worth building either because the cost is too high or their timing is bad)
-Stonehenge: +1 faith and +1 culture is mediocre. You can instead build 2 settlers.
-Hanging Gardens: While the 15% to housing is nice, you want to expand as much as you can so you have many cities that can produce units
How to attack and defend your front lines.
I would like to recommend quil18's videos
He managed to defeat an army 4 times larger than him (Tomyris) with Persia.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEf8LuennEk

You can see his strategy.
Stay friendly with as Many AIs early on
AIs that are very easy to become friends with
-Gilgamesh: He loves people who ask him for a friendship. For example. Having captured like 5 of his cities, I asked for a friendship request. Yet, he accepted. Here is proof:

-Alexander: he loves Civs that are at war
-Gorgo: she loves Civs that are at war

For example: Here I want to become friends with Cyrus
Knowing that Cyrus loves surprise wars, I declared a surprise war on a civilization very far from me early on. Therefore, this gave me a strong positive modifier

Other ways to get friendly relationships:
-1) shared religioun
-2) a small favourable trade towards them
-3) sending a trade delegation
-4) Same government
-5) Joint war: very important posiitve modifier without warmongering penalties.
Spies
You want to first increase the level of the spy by setting up listening posts. You can sabotage their spaceports or steal artwork or even take their gold.

It is just a game. You don't like it don't play it. It has nothing to do with being smart it is just about knowing the mechanics
