Description
About:

The Ripjack weapon now gives the Skirmisher the Slash ability as a default action.

By default the Reckoning perk grants the Slash ability, but I felt like this perk was too far in the tree, and personally I think it's silly the Skirmisher can't attack with his claw right off the bat.

His Slash is a free action with a 1 turn cooldown, so you can shoot once with your Bullpup then slash, or slash then shoot, or slash and take cover, slash and use an item etc. Go hog wild!

Changes:

I gave the Slash ability a 1 turn cooldown (down from the default 6) so that you can melee once every turn like a Ranger or a Templar. This can be changed in the XComGameData_SoldierSkills config file if you wish.

You can also change the aim and damage bonus in the same config file if you choose.

Notes:

This mod makes the Reckoning perk functionally useless, and I have not replaced that perk with anything in this mod; I purposefully did not make that fix so that this mod would not conflict with other mods that change the Skirmisher's perk tree.

I will put out an optional companion mod to make the Reckoning perk do something else, otherwise simply don't take that perk.

If you modify or download a mod that gives other classes access to the Ripjack, then this mod will also give them the Slash ability if they equip a Ripjack. I have no idea if this breaks animations for non-Skirmisher classes.

Feel free to peak at the very simply code I have used and/or steal it for your own use.

If you want to disable the Reckoning perk from showing up in the skill tree what worked for me was going to DefaultClassData.ini in the game files and commenting out (AbilityType=(AbilityName="Reckoning", ApplyToWeaponSlot=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon)), \\

@Phoenix If you check the description, they mention that the Reckoning perk is effectively useless, and does not give you the ability twice.

Sorry to ask, but is there any way to disable the Reckoning perk from showing up in the perk tree? I really love this mod but I feel like having two slash abilities is unbalanced. I guess I can choose to just not take the perk but I'm worried I'll do it by accident.

The reckoning perk allows you to use your slash ability twice... far from useless :)

I edited the ini file to increase the damage bonus; however, after restarting the game, the damage is still showing the same value as before the edit (the value of the wrist blade damage from the core game weapons ini file). Any suggestions on what to do?

Could it add skulljack too once it is unlocked? You see a skirmisher use his claws as a skulljack in the intro video when you first meet him.
