It bowed to gods it carved from fear and time.

I paid in doubt and kept what wasn’t mine.

They said, believe, as if belief were sight,
As if the dark dissolved when named as light.
I learned the truth does not demand a throat,
It doesn’t beg to live, it doesn’t fight.

Hope was a trick that dressed itself as cure,
A polished lie that promised to endure.
I tried it once, it tasted just like rust,
A future sold as something clean and pure.

Love learned to kneel, then learned to calculate,
It counted worth, it learned to tolerate.
I watched it rot beneath a moral sun,
Another god that needed us to wait.

I found no end, no balance, no design,
No final word, no order in the line.
Just breath, then silence circling the same,
No why, no debt, no reason left to claim.

I stand unowned by heaven or by blame,
Unmoved by guilt, untouched by praise or shame.
I do not kneel, I do not need a name,
I am that I am, and that is all that I am.
