A in depth review of this game because i'm bored

SPOILER FREE!

TL;DR and replacements for this game at the bottom

The ageing and incentive
This is where the game really falls apart. It gets really stale really quickly, in the scavenging section, where most the game takes place, gets boring fast. I just wanna get my stuff and leave, due to the fighting being quite boring. The most fun part of the game (to me) is the alley fights, and nighttime (ill talk about those later) which barely any of the game is.
Then there's the random events. These are ♥♥♥♥. When they happen, I don't think "Oh ♥♥♥♥, am I going to make it out of this?" I instead thin "Aw cm'on. Welp, lets get this over with." They aren't fun or intense at all, especially late game. They just feel like filler for content.
In conclusion, there's not a lot to say, but this is the biggest issue. It just doesn't age. At all.

The fighting and scavenging system.
At first when you do the tutorial, its alright. You've gotta figure out the best spot to place your survivors in the best place in little time, also having a different area after each wave. So far this game mixes strategy and action nicely. Once you finish the tutorial and go outside to scavenge, that's when you realise, scavenging is not what you learnt in the tutorial, while its still wave based, instead of having 3-7 different areas its just 1 big area making you to be able to run away from the problem. This also makes not spaced out well, making out uninteresting at parts or decent. The type of fighting used in tutorial but its only used in random events and scouting. One last note, when your survivors are downed, you can revive them, but it takes a while. This is a very common revive system and it a good system, but, you can do it as many times as you as please making it quite easy if one of your people have the quick revive trait.
In conclusion, its a decent system at first, but then when the actual game starts, its not used often and replaced with a quite boring and bland system.

The day/exploring and night system
The day is the time you go out and scavenge for resources and ammo. You move about the city where the game takes place, your given energy, which is used when you do things. This is a decent system but, the energy your given is to much, making the whole things that drives you (the 20 days you have) non existent (at least for me). The map of the whole game is split up into a square grid, each square being one block in the city. You start at your base, which for some reason you have to clean out before you can go any where, which doesn't make sense because that is what you do in the tutorial. Once that's done, you can can travel to any adjacent tile leave to explore as you please. Each block has a danger and resources value, which is mostly unknown. To find these values out, you can scout the area, going into a alleyway fight (That's the type of fight used in the tutorial, ill be calling it that from now on, also if you wanna know what it looks like, see the first photo on the store page) with a BTD type fight, where you cant let the enemy past the edge more than 5 times. Its okay, I just don't find myself using it much due to a lack of incentive.
In conclusion, its a good system but its moved along to fast. Also scouting is pretty useless
The night is okay, you chose where to use your resources to make food (supplies), get rest for energy the next day, use the radio to find some things you might need on the map, and also make items.
Not much to say really, its just okay.

TL;DR: This game sounds good on paper, and it is, but after half an hour it gets very very boring.

If you want a game like this I would heavily suggest "This War of Mine"

Thanks for reading! :3
