Whatever good things you have read about this game are all true. I wouldn't call it a game in the traditional sense but if your here reading these reviews then you have a good idea of what this is and if its a good fit for you.

My wife who has never played a video game besides Ms. Pac-man played the first area for a while. She was pretty amazed at the sound quality - it really sounds like your there. We put it onto our 65" TV and cranked the surround - Really awesome!

I'm really looking forward to finishing and seeing where this will end up at but then going back and re-exploring each of the areas again - I know there is a lot I am missing but will be going back to find.

It reminds me of a more twisted Myst or Riven. I guess I am dating myself and it's a reach comparing this to them but it just feels similar to me and that is a big positive.

I am really having a good time. I just did a mission that reminded me of a certain movie and I loved every minute of it! I really don't care for everyone's politics or opinions - All I can say is I am having fun with a "Skyrim in Space" game and it has given me quite a bit of enjoyment.

I am sure there is hundreds of super detailed reviews here and this is not one of them.

Okay right off the bat I will admit these things: There is a lack of information about this game online, Lots of people have crapped on this game, Yes this is not a Contra game in the sense of Contra, The camera can be awful, The grind is real, and the difficulty spikes can be harsh (I am looking at you area six, mainly six - four) and the biggest sin of all: there is no pause. (I don't know what they were thinking - no pause in mp fine, understandable. But no pause in single player is ridiculous.)

I wouldn't be helping anyone if I sugar coat things. These are points to consider before you spend your money on this game - if you snag it on sale I'd say your getting a fair deal.

If your still reading this I applaud you and thank you.

What I can say is the game is insanely fun and I am having a blast with it! The characters are all very different (four in total) but I'd say you'll probably stick with one and use the others as mules for crate runs. Each handles different enough and their specials are unique - again you'll probably stick with one once you find who fits your play style. (I prefer the gal because her special amplifies your damage)

There are a few different stages but as you get later in the game some are the same as earlier with more enemies or different paths to take. I have noticed a very small amount of alternative paths you can take in levels, maybe two so far, so things are quite linear. The enemy variety isn't huge either as you'll fight mostly the same ones but they will be stronger later on. There are quite a few and later stages will have you fighting up to three bosses at once.

Weapon, sub weapon and body parts are a varied lot. Of course there is always what will be top tier guns but being able to add mods (BAD) to them gives a amount of choice on their behavior and how long before they overheat / cooldown, and other effects. These and your body parts (there are 4 different slots) are going to be your big damage dealers later along with researching other weapons and upgrading the ones you have.

This is the game loop: A) you do a story mission and are graded (higher grades equal higher level and higher tier equipment), you continue until you get stuck which leads to B) side missions. These are where you can grind for gear, gun blueprints, and body parts. Not much more going on but they provide a good challenge and different pace.

I think if your still reading you can decide if this is for you. When I first played it I really didn't care for it but once I learned the loop of things (there is a very serious lack of info but I have added the Japanese wiki link which helped me quite a bit - use Google translate) I am really enjoying it. I got it on sale which was great but had I known I would enjoy it as much as I am I would have paid full price for it. I probably will log 100+ hours on it before I put it down.

Richard Nixon is a great American hero. Thanks for reading :)

I picked this up on a whim based on a top rated comment of how much fun it is.

This game is absolutely the most fun I have had playing anything in a little bit. Everything seems near perfect (which I add because I have played less then 5 hours at this point) and I can't think of anything to complain about imo.

You know if your the target audience for the game if you end up checking it out in the Store. Trust me it is totally worth it!

Let me just get this out of the way: The support team for ICOFR is amazing! If you have a issue they are pretty quick to take care of you / it. I've only had a handful of times to contact them across multiple platforms and they always have helped me out with any issue I have had.

I've been around the game for a loooong time now - literally day 1. I was playing across 2 platforms - Kongregate and Xbox and now also here.

If your into DnD and the lore with it your gonna feel at home with the game. What it lacks in interaction it makes up for in depth - there is a large roster of characters to choose from, a huge amount of skills, and a lot to learn about synergy between characters. The dialogue between areas is generally pretty well written and entertaining. There is a lot that is done right in the game and it is very enjoyable.

You can take the game as light or deep as you'd like. Casually picking characters to use that you like is generally able to clear most content imo. Once you get father in the game and the later variants you will by that time hopefully mastered most of the characters and have a good idea of team building. (The subreddit and the discussion forum plus a google search can point you the right direction)

I will mention the monetization in the game. If you are patient you can unlock a lot of content, nearly everything is unlockable with time over money. Once a month there is the event to unlock a new character and get chests for older characters, at a certain point you'll unlock patrons which allow for grinding potions, a few other things. There is a season pass, (which doesn't everything have one now), that has it's own tiers separate from the free tiers. I don't think it's a deal breaker to not get it. If I see one that has some cosmetics and boosts I want I am inclined to get it. It supports the devs and I understand this.

I think if you are into idle games that this would be a good fit for you. You can take it as easy or hardcore as you'd like and still get enjoyment for hours from it. I think within the first hour or so you can tell if it's what you'd like to play. It is kind of addicting lol but some of the best games are. I love DnD so it is a no brainer for me.

I love the game! I hated it at first but absolutely adore it now. The music is the high point - the soundtrack is so so good! Reminds me of Aphex Twin (which is a good good thing) - great techno. The loop of gameplay is quite repetitive but fun.

The only thing needed here is a tiny bit of polish - a little balancing would go far (especially with the different characters). Mid level saving like on Hades should be a staple - you will need to clear the tower you are on lose out on the run. But the good stuff is there - once you get into the loop of gameplay its hard to set down.

I got this in the 2K bundle and was really excited for it. Then I found out the store is closed. There is no one online to play against. And maybe I just need to git gud but the AI went from fair to just cheap. Absolute trash. Maybe when I try it again later it might be more willing to let me get a move in and not reverse everything else.

I have decided to change my review:

Game is fun most of the time.
Developer had to change a class name because people are snowflakes.

Dev is also very active, making changes quite fluidly to make sure the balance is healthy.

Personal feelings besides (plus political correctness) - its a great fun game. I've got a chunk of time into it and each update feels good and organic while adding to replay value.

He has plans to support the game for a while from what I have seen and heard - I am looking forward to them again.

I have really enjoyed this game a lot! I had read that some people found the game difficult and I fell in that camp at first. I think I even stopped playing for a little bit. Boy am i glad I came back to it! Once you get into the groove of it you will be dashing from one side to another and slicing the ball mostly right where you want it.

The graphics are colorful and fit perfectly to the game. I enjoyed the cut scenes and the voice acting is on target too. Very well done for a smaller game like this. The music score is great. Didn't mind it playing in the background once. Again this fits well to the overall experience.

It had been in my game rotation for a while now. I don't play as much but I still like the distraction of it. Trying to get all the achievements will take a little while also. I finished all the extra 60 levels and there are still all the stars to collect. Overall there is no lack of things to do and should keep you/me busy for a long time.

Based on this game I'd consider buying another game from the developer team in the future. It is really fun, brings a bunch to the table for a "Breakout" game, and the Play/Share is a added bonus so you can play with someone else with one copy. Generous of the developers!

A lot of fun and different enough to recommend out of the many games like it.
