I am a Canadian, specifically from the Alberta province on the west side of the country

I do in fact follow quite a few of the common stereotypes of being a Canadian, including but not limited to:

Maple Syrup Drinking
Saying "Sorry" a lot
Being obsessed with hockey (Go Flames! Boo Oilers!)
pronouncing "about" like "aboot"
being able to survive extremely cold weather
loving Tim Horton's
saying "eh?" a lot

i come from the lesser known part of Canada, my life as a Canadian is very different from a person on the other side of the country, so if i tell you something that is mismatched with another Canadian you've talked to, that is probably why
