Celeste is an amazing game. Going more into depth about it, the style is super cute and expressive, the simple sprites and counteracted by them having very smooth movement and appealing designs. The story itself is very interesting, I haven't seen another game in this genre go that direction, though i bet some more exist. The music too, absolutely phenomenal. If youre the type to listen to video game OST's casually, i'd suggest doing that after you finish the game. The soundtrack pairs super well with the gameplay and story, and some tracks are genuinely incredible, but don't spoil any of it until you've gone through the whole thing. The gameplay is honestly not exactly unique. don't get me wrong, i loved playing through all the levels, and the game is very challenging at times while still staying fun. But its not like it plays much different to other platformers out here (again, not a bad thing).

Henceforth, if you are considering a purchase, the answer is yes. If its not on sale, the answer is still yes, cause it legitimately is worth it. If you're still on the fence, you can get through enough of the game in 2 hours that you'll know if you want to keep it or not.

I played through the beta, and put around 25 hours into it with another friend of mine. Once the game shutdown in preparation for the full release, I kind of forgot about it. But after almost 5 months, the game finally released, and I was very excited.

First, for the perspective of a new player, the game is awesome. A 3v3 air hockey game with elements of MOBA games. I've heard it be described as "Rocket League of Legends", and that is spot on. You coordinate with your team to get past 2 player acting as attackers (called forwards) and then outsmart a third player as a goalie. At the time of writing this review, there are 17 playable characters (only 4 unlocked at first), all of which are very unique. The visuals are great, the character designs are splendid, and the music is ironically stupid with how good it is. Most character abilities feel balanced and fair to use, but this games get constant updates so the devs are always fine tuning the experience.

Now the perspective for those who played beta,
I understand why there are lots of disagreements. I do kinda miss the old gear system, but I also enjoy the variety of the new awakenings. And there are a lot more improvements made to the full release that I fell make the game better. But even if you have the things you hate or dislike, the core theme, idea, vibe, and enjoyment factor has not changed.

In total, this game is very fun. I've convinced some of my friends to play, and those who stuck with it love it. Its a free game, and its not a big one at that, so getting someone to check it out isn't hard. The competitive scene is great, there's plenty of options to help you get used to the game mechanics, and overall is so worth it. Everything in the game you can purchase with real cash is either cosmetics, emotes, or a battle pass which is full of player titles, player cards, more emotes, and more cosmetics. This game has no pay to win, which makes it satisfying to pull off a victory. Its skill based, and the best players are the best for a reason.

If you are reading this and you haven given this game a chance, then just do it. If you don't like it, then don't play it. But if you do like it, you'll start your new addiction.

EDIT 11/3/23:
it has been announced by the devs that at the end of this year, they will discontinue content updates for Omega Strikers. Though they will keep the game alive with continued bug patches and balance updates. But no more new maps, strikers, events, striker passes, none of that. Though this is unfortunate news, if you are a new player still looking to get into the game, the devs have done enough to give you a great experience. Dont let the discovery of no more content let you down. Ive been playing since open beta started, and though this news makes me very sad, I still love this game to bits, and I hope that you can too. Omega Strikers is still a 10/10.

If Omega Strikers has 1 million fans, I am one of them.
If Omega Strikers has 10 thousand fans, I am one of them.
If Omega Strikers has 100 fans, I am one of them.
If Omega Strikers has 1 fan, I am that one fan.
If Omega Strikers has zero fans, then I am dead.

TL:DR at bottom for those who wish (and are pressed for time)

I remember when I was around 12 or 13, and had first played Mutilate a Doll 2 (RIP flash). I would sometimes play it in school, and I had a good time with it. Couple of years go by, and I see a PPG video on my Youtube recommended. It was some action sequences with a bit of story thrown in there. I became hooked, and started to get quite interested about PPG. Later on, Markiplier made a video about PPG, and that really opened my eyes on what this game entails. A couple weeks later, Its on sale, 90% off, and I happened to have enough money in my steam wallet to buy it.

Its a decision that I will never in my right mind regret.

The description says very very little about the potential this game has. Killing ragdolls is fun, yes, but so much more can be done. With just Vanilla game materials, you can build anything you can think of, craft any vehicle that comes to mind, create huge elaborate scenes that you can interact with. Plenty of weapons to fuel your boredom, with tons more to play with.

Then there's the workshop.

This game utterly THRIVES on what people publish to the workshop. There are hundreds of very talented people that specialize in a specific contraption, and constantly produce new things. Some examples that I know of are:
oppnoxis - detailed, functional, and cool tanks/planes
Eduardoeldo - packs that contain army personel, equipment, and weapons
lego - functional and very cool guns (not equippable guns, large contraption guns)

And the same goes for mods. There are no shortage of amazing mods that will entirely change the way you interact with the sandbox. If you can think of it, theres a very high chance that someone has made it.

I find PPG to be a very good way to feed my boredom, just by hopping on for 1/2 an hour, and just messing around with the mods I have installed. And when I actually play, I usually utilize map building mods to create battle scenes.

Now, it might be hard to constantly play this game. Since its a sandbox, there's no goal. Nothing to really work towards. And there will be days where you try to think about what to do, and decide to just stop playing. And even if you have all the mods you could ever want, its still not enough to give you inspiration to do something. But then there will be days where you have an idea, and can super easily boot up the game, and work on it. And with the ability to save things that you have created, and spawn them whenever you want, you can effortlessly pick up on a project that you had previously worked on.

I was quite lucky to catch this game with such a low price point. But even at its full $10 price, I would still recommend the hell out of it. 10/10, just go buy it already :)

TD:DR
I bought it for a dollar, but I still would've bought it for 10. Its very good to translate ideas to reality, and the workshop makes it all the more worth while. 10/10

Pretty good. Only 12 songs, each with 5 difficulty levels, but still a really nice demo. Good song selection, fantastic art style, simple controls. Overall, it good gaem :)

It makes me happy :)

But in all seriousness, this game is perfect. The level design is all over the place, some sections being tight and claustrophobic, while other places being super massive. The art of these levels are super nice, and the backgrounds. Oh my god, the backgrounds. All i can say is that they're incredible. The art style of the characters are also super nice, and i haven't seen anything like it anywhere else. But finally, the music. Looking up the OST on youtube doesnt do justice to how amazing it truely is. Some moments made me stop what i was doing, and just take in the beauty of it. If the game is on sale, i'd say its worth it for the soundtrack alone.

Ori is such a fantastic game. 10/10, i guarantee you'll want to, at some point, fill up all 10 save slots
