if you love something you should be able to criticize it. this DLC was such a disappointment for me. vast beautiful landscapes with barely any content to fill them (unless you consider random re-used mobs, plants, cookbooks and smithing stones "content" then there's plenty of it for you), an artificial excuse to make you go explore said empty fields in the form of the new tree fragments that barely matter at the end of your journey stats wise, the re-use of Midir's boss arena from DS3 for a boss that never stops moving because re-using mobs wasn't enough recycling, lackluster bosses with bloated stats (even with a maxed out tree blessing) and movesets with little to no time for the player to actually engage in combat, leaving you to simply poke at them or to heal in case you got unlucky dodging 5 to 7 attacks in a row (with AOEs because difficulty!). the whole experience from start to finish was like a ghost wandering in an abandoned castle, moaning in regret while dragging heavy chains tied to its ankles.

PS: final boss is a RGN fest, just get lucky with the moves it'll make and you'll beat it.

had to fight the leftovers of an ancient god without my arms and survived to see the credits, 10/10

I've had 10 playthroughs in this game (not just on Steam) and aside from some weird design decisions for the endgame I can tell the devs really poured their hearts into this gem. My favorite aspect of it was the art direction, absolutely stunning visuals all over the place. My least favorite was, again, some design choices for the endgame like the balancing of enemies and bosses, but overall it's a must play for any Souls fans and also for people who want to step outside their comfort zone gaming-wise.

A breath of fresh air in the middle of all the Souls-like games released recently. Could be longer but the game does a great job with what it has to offer. Engaging and challenging combat mechanics, more polished than I expected. I hope to see more from the devs in the future!

One of, if not the best combat system I've ever had the pleasure of mastering in a game. This game taught me patience and perseverance like no other.

The game is so good I felt bad for buying it on sale instead of paying the full price.
One of the best games I've ever played, give it a chance and I promise you won't regret it.

And remember when in doubt, fire works well!

A love letter to all the fans of the previous games, especially Dark Souls I, a great way to close the saga.

This game has a lot of bad things but it also has great things, it deserves some love.
