Early Access Review
Really fun survival game. Tons of content and runs very smoothly for an EA game. I think I've reached my end until the next update and wanted to share my thoughts

What I liked:
- Building. It was pretty user friendly, which is big for me because as much as I love doing it in these games, I'm not very good at it. Also, the game doesn't make you gather crazy amount of materials to build. You still have to chop and mine, but I don't feel like it makes you do it to much.

- Exploring. The game is so big already and while there are quest markers telling me what's next, I've had a lot of fun just running and gliding in another direction. This was usually rewarded with finding a village or cave or mine that had some lore to read. No game changing finds, but it felt rewarding to find something new off the beaten path.

- NPCs / Quests. Not something I usually see in this type of game, but I thought it added a fun element to the usual recipe.

- Performance. I played on Steam Deck and it ran great. Ate some battery, but if I tweaked the settings a bit I was getting about two hours with everything still looking and running fine.

- The Shroud. It adds a planning element to exploration. Going in to mine, for a quest, or just exploring new areas means different amounts of time and preparation. There was always a way out, as long as I kept my eye on the time and planned accordingly... which I didn't always do!

Needs Improvement:
- Combat. It's not bad, just a little bland. This isn't always a big deal for me in survival games, but the game forces a lot of combat and it gets old to me after a bit. When I jump back in after an update or two, I'll try a different style, I leaned hard in to mage this time.

- Crafting vs Drops. You can either craft weapons and armor or use whqt you find/loot throughout the world. I felt the found items were usually better which diminished the need to craft new weapons, something I like doing in these games.

- Biome diversity. There are different biomes in the game, but I didn't feel a major difference between them as I went from one to the other. Villages, trees, and the general aesthetic still felt the same.

I think survival fans will like this one and I am excited to see how they progress!

Figured I should give this a quick review since it just launched it's 1.0. Absolutely loved this game. Only reason I stopped playing was because I hit the end of the Early Access timeline and achievements, but am planning on jumping back in soon and starting from scratch and completing the game.

I love the pixel art, music/sound, and the balance of diving and running the restaurant (similar to Moonlight which I also loved). It also seems that just when the gameplay loop gets a little stagnant, they throw something slightly new at you to keep interest.

Looking forward to another run and probably 20 more hours on top of the 10 or so I spent in the EA period.

While I'm not even four hours into the game, I feel like I have seen most of the content and definitely enough to review and recommend. This game takes the actual actions of punching trees for wood, mining rocks, and all the usual early-survival game action and turns it into a card game. Stack certain card combos and you can upgrade, receive new items, and create new buildings. Like many survival games, it is all about balance; you have to make sure you have enough villagers to ensure you can fight off mobs, but you also have to make sure you have enough food production to feed those villagers. I have only made it to about 40-50 moons or so, and really look forward to seeing if I can progress into a really long run!

This will never be my favorite game ever, but I see myself coming back to this a lot when I am in-between games. It is easy to pick off where I left off and easy to go for a while without playing and just jump right back in because while there is a learning curve to "git gud," the basics are very simple.

I only lucked upon this while searching through the current sale, but would gladly have forked over the five bucks that is the normal price. I'd be shocked if I didn't end up with 20 plus hours for something I played under four dollars for.

That was fun! Great pixel graphics with nice combat and a satisfying game loop. I loved opening my shop just as much as I did going into the dungeons to stock it up. I would have been content with this at full price, but at the current sale of 3 bucks, everyone should give it a try!
