I recommend this remaster solely for the reason that it is the easiest and most accessible legal method of playing the game on PC today, due to the original being de-listed after the original developers Terminal Reality went defunct, and Atari had let their license expire. This is a very bare bones and buggy release that has almost no improvements to speak of over the original version, except for the addition of Steam achievements which the original did not have, and the game has also been recompiled into a 64-bit executable, so it is more stable now and will run better on future operating systems than the original version which is 32-bit and already struggles to run properly on Windows 10 and 11. Only fair to mention that I feel. besides that, all you get is poorly upscaled CGI cutscenes with added crappy color grading that makes them look incredibly washed out, a memorial to the late Harold Ramis, and more bugs and issues than the original release of the game. If you have never played the game before, this is perfectly suitable. Just be prepared for the game to potentially break and soft lock, forcing you to reload your save. There are a few points this can potentially happen, and it is the worst part of this remaster. If you do want to buy the original PC version of this game and are willing to put up with modern Windows related shenanigans, it is available on Amazon as a digital download. It does use secure rom DRM, but the code provided will work and can be used to install it on multiple machines. I would heavily recommend that over trying to hunt down a Steam Key for it.

As for the game itself, if you like Ghostbusters then you will probably like this. It hasn't aged the greatest and is far from perfect, but it is fun and worth a playthrough. Just avoid the professional difficulty. The balancing for enemies just doesn't exist, and it is not fun at all. Play it on experienced.
