Really enjoyed this game it's great that they removed the DR- oh... oh

You can probably tell but capcom added new drm to most of their older titles including this one, it's probably to combat mods since the games are too old to bother with protecting, they're definitely out there.

Here's what removing mod support means to your game:
Accessibility not included in the base game is no longer able to be used
Additional content adding replayability to the games is gone


Here's what DRM can do to your game
DRM often requires internet connectivity to activate so people without internet connections (e.g. people with access to proper wifi installations or steam deck users on the go) will no longer be able to play this title
If capcom were ever to shut down and you wanted to install the game on a new machine, it wouldn't work unless you bypassed the game.

Oh yeah btw this is a singleplayer only game

Leaderboards? Maybe?

I'm not saying you shouldn't get this game, it's very good, but buy it on sale, make sure capcom doesn't get your money, make sure this decision isn't profitable to them.

Screw DRM and capcom, if I pirated games (I don't personally) I would pirate every single one of their titles

Personal gripe unrelated to this situation, they removed o.g. re2 and re3 from steam meaning there's no way to play them without spending a large amount of money on an old console and copy of the game or by emulation which many people may not want to do. Which also hurts preservation
