The art alone made me buy this game. Everything else the game has is a wonderful surprise, and it's full of surprises.

One of the most fun Rogue likes I have played, and this game is just DRIPPING with charm. If you haven't played it yet, you should.

A stunning end to one of the most influential franchises in gaming.

I'm torn. Sometimes this game is amazing, and other times it's not worth the time of day. It really depends on what DLC has just come out. If I made this review right at Foresaken, I would've recommended it, but Bungie has a big problem with dropping the ball on basically every DLC that doesn't drastically change the game. After the huge changes everything else they release seems watered down and really not worth the $30 a lot of these passes are going for. It really is sad to see an IP with such potential fumble the bag constantly.

Coming back to this review, I basically doubled my playtime since my initial one back in 2018, but my thoughts are basically the same. The game has had a few good spots since then, but the hayday of destiny 2 feels like its far behind us now. The Witchqueen was pretty good, but the addition of a paid dungeon key and lack of new content outside of seasonal events that are the same as years previous really burnt me out. I came back for Lightfall like a lot of people and was shocked yet again that somehow Bungie finds a new way to disappoint. They've made bad dlc's before, but oofadoofa what a bad one that was. All of that added to the most recent state of the game it becomes apparent they are keeping Destiny 2's lights on just to hope it can stay alive long enough for them to fund their new shiny ip's. I do not think Bungie is going to change at this point, and it's sad to see a company that has made such impacts in gaming be run into the ground like this.

TLDR; the real story of Destiny 2 is one of wasted potential and corporate greed.

If you have a few hours and haven't had a good cry in a while, then this is the game for you.

Amazingly fun, and totally worth the wait. The main story is nowhere near as good as 2, (how could you top that Borderlands 2 though, I'd like to see you try.) but other than that this game is solid and fun. The new movement options add a new layer to the game and add a refreshed feel to the franchise I already love. This game looks and plays amazing and I highly recommend giving it a try!
