i'd also like to say, looking at some of the arguments i made in hindsight, they're not as good as they could be
There are mods, however, to fix, improve and tweak many aspects of the game and sequel doesn't have that yet.
It wasn't a problem in the first game at all - in the first game, if you go slow, if you farm out your characters, if you approach certain bioms with specific teams, rng didn't matter - you would always succeed. The only encounter in the game that was somewhat rng based was the final boss and even that could easily be played around. As long as you knew what you were doing, you could complete a game without casualties, without retreats, but it would take longer - you didn't need luck on your side, it was more of a "slow and steady wins the race"
7. See no. 2.
8. The third boss, before the revision, absolutely needed the wiki. That might be what they meant. It's incredibly frustrating when you can't pick up on a boss's mechanics after 5 whole rounds and then you wipe.
9. Yeah that's fine.
10. Whatever.
11. There's something I miss about doing a short mission. Like if I want a long mission I'll do a long one, if I want a quick and short mission I can select that option. Now you're locked on this one mission for probably an hour or so.
4. Luck is fine. Not a problem for me.
5. There's more context to this. They are reset, unless you beat the run and then lock in a memory for the heroes so that they remain permanent. On a few occasions I completely forgot to do the memories so I lost a lot of progress, and although I would like an "are you sure? you forgot to blahblahblah" that's probably just incompetence on my part.
