Such a dark and beautiful game.

Also, critical hit gems need nerf lol.

One of the better games I've played that's also clearly held together by hastily applied duct tape and rubber cement.

Long platforming game, combat's not so complex, plenty of nooks and crannies to maybe forget to revisit when you get the airdash or whatever to pass the particular platforming challenge, doors that only open from the other side, or just random passages that are blacked out until you happen to move into them. It's got shopkeepers, a bug who you ride like a train, and that one other bug with the needle and thread who loves to yell at you. What's not to like?

Just watch out for the enemy spaceships, which is my main criticism. They warp in without warning, pretty much anywhere on the screen but the very center. This wouldn't be as much of a problem if it didn't mean you could randomly lose a life to a ship warping in on top of you. Other than that, it's pretty fun.

Charming characters, cute animals, and capitalism. What's not to love?

I've been with this series since the beginning and it's only gotten better, and while there have been more monkeys in the past, I think they've come pretty close to perfecting this game.
