I am a huge fan of the Resident Evil series. The last two unreal engine remakes were fantastic and the series has been on a massive upwards trajectory since the masterpieces that were RE:7 and Village. However this might be the best one yet. It took the best things from each of them and put them into a phenomenal experience that is worth every penny. The combat system is great, the range of weapons is extensive, the characters are likeable, the enemies are interesting and unique and the graphics are beautiful. I stayed up for over 24 hours straight without even realising it because I was so engaged in this game. This is already one of the best games I have ever played and I will be playing it again and again because the challenges and achievements really make me look forward to 100%'ing it. It will take a generational video game to top this as my Game of the Year and we are only in March. My playthrough lasted well over 17 hours - a much higher number than the last few remakes and mainline releases. The challenge time in this game is 8 hours which is more than double the challenge times from the RE2 and RE3 remakes. There is A LOT of game here and not a minute of it is dull.A 'Yes' to 'do you recommend' does not really do this game enough justice.Also: I did not play the original Resident Evil 4 but I know it was a common complaint that Ashley was a bit annoying. In this she is a badass. They made literally every part of this game great.
