Metro Last Light is the sequel to Metro 2033 with Artyom as the protagonist. The levels are linear but well designed, the developers encourages you to explore every bit of the map to get collectibles, "moral points" , ammo and medkits. The atmosphere and the soundtrack are a great combination, the metro is terrifying, filled with creatures at every corner. The game itself is linear, as a player you don't have much of a choice but to get from point a to point b, and that is not necessarily a bad thing, it helps the developers to focus more on the story. The overall gameplay is very good, the gunplay is perfect, there a quite a few choices in terms of weapons, heavy guns for those who like to go guns blazing or silencers for the stealth players. Metro Last Light is a great continuation in the franchise and I highly recommend it.

Spec Ops: The Line is different in comparison to other mainstream shooters like COD,BF etc. The story its amazing, as the player you realize that every line of dialogue, every cinematic is important and serves as key roles for the ending. Its like watching a war movie directed by one of the Hollywood's top directors, you will never want the story to end, maybe because you are so captivated by it or maybe you just know that the end will not be a 'happy' one. The game is very challenging even on Suicide Mission difficulty, you'll die very quickly if you don't plan your next move, and on FUBAR difficulty, you'll pretty much die instantly with 1-2 bullets. I highly recommend this game.

Mirror's Edge is a beautiful game with great mechanics and artworks. The gameplay is addicting, Faith's movement is fluid and dynamic, which gives the player the sense of a real runner. Another thing that immerse you in the game is the camera tilts when you switch the way Faith is headed, which is very helpful in tense moments or gunfights. A minor flaw the game has is the controls, sometimes they feel clunky, but again, the movement is fluid and dynamic, so you can easily get over the clunky controls. Great puzzle game, I highly recommend it.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is the third game in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series, it again features Sam Fisher as the main protagonist who's sent by the US government to solve their dirty work. As a campaign it's longer than the previous entry, the levels are more realistic, you'll no longer have to get from point a to point b, in some levels you'll actually have to 'collect' intel in order to complete the objectives. A co-op was also introduced in the game, an update to the multiplayer mode from Pandora Tomorrow. Even though the co-op and the multiplayer modes are the original aspects of this game, the thing i liked the most was the solo campaign, it's again linear, but tells an interesting story of the political tension between the US, North Korea and Japan. Chaos Theory is not a perfect game, but it definetely tried and succeded to improve the bad aspects from the previous games.

Half Life 2: Episode 2 is better than the first episode, the levels are more difficult, but also more fun to play. The story is good, the AI in general is more polished, especially Alyx. The only reason that made me (and many other) 'hate' this game is the ending. As a guy who beat the original Half Life only 4 years ago,and Episode 2 just a few months ago I now join the tortured souls of those who are waiting for a sequel.

And we are getting one.

Hitman is the 6th entry in the Hitman franchise, it was released in an episodic format but the main focus is switched back to being a standalone series of sandbox killings. The gameplay is similar to Blood Money, there are only 6 missions but they are well constructed with many options, opportunities and ways to eliminate the targets. The rating system is much easier to understand compared to Absolution, but I don't like the fact that you can't eliminate non-targets with accidents (without affecting the final rating), that was a good feature from Blood Money that should have been in this game as well. The stealth mechanics are impecable, the graphics are stunning and it's also a very well optimized game. I highly recommend it.

Tomb Raider II is the continuation to the first Tomb Raider game and is a huge improvement in my opinion. The level design is brilliant, the puzzles are well constructed, giving you a nice sense of achievement when you complete one. The atmosphere is fantastic thanks to the soundtrack and the interesting locations. The levels are longer and larger, with a nice variety of spacious and narrow environments. The game also introduces a new climbing mechanic, sometimes you will need to a jump trick to progress through the level, this makes the game more challenging, but it also makes the player more used to the controls. Overall is a very good puzzle adventure game.

HL2: Episode 1 begins right when Half Life 2 ended, but it's a standalone title, so you don't have to own HL2 to play it. Although the game is short, it has some great gameplay mechanics, the story is very well written, it helps deepen the immersion of this journey even more. For the majority of the game you play alongside Alyx, you can complete the whole game firing a single bullet for the achievement 'One bullet', which means you have to rely on Alyx's shooting skills, with Freeman only be able to use the crowbar, gravity gun, grenades and rocket launcher. Overall Episode 1 serves as a great expansion and there's no reason to not give it a shot if you beat HL2.

I didn't played the original from 2010, but after watching comparisons in graphics I can say that this version of the game is a genuine remaster. Metro 2033 Redux is a post apocalyptic FPS that portrays an unique and negative view of mankind. The story takes place in the metro tunnels of Moscow, while the Dark Ones live at the irradiated surface of the planet. Apart from the normal difficulty ratings we saw in other games, there are 2 modes you can choose from: survival or spartan. In survival mode, the resources are hard to find, the player is forced to manage his ammo and medkits and to analyze his surroundings before engaging into battle with the dark ones. The soundtrack is good, it creates tension especially in the high action sequences. I highly recommend this game, and if you can buy it in a bundle with Metro Last Light.

Just Cause have a lot of glitches, it crashes everytime when pressing alt+tab, the controls feel very clunky, it is extremely repetitive. In comparison to other sandbox titles, the map is huge, but lacks the ability to keep the player interested, there are a few sidequests that again are repetitive, the liberations are exactly the same thing you have to do over and over again, for around 300 times if I'm right to get the whole map liberated. Buy it only if you really want a backstory before playing Just Cause 2 and 3, if you are not looking for that, don't bother.
